Drove 5 and a half hours for nothing

I play basketball for a community college in the Northern California area and we were scheduled to play in a tournament down in Hayward earlier in the day. It tooks us about 2 hours and 45 min. to drive down there just to see an empty and dark gym.

Apparently, my coach misunderstood the tournament director and thought Saturday was the day for the games, when in actuality, the tournament is scheduled for tomorrow.


The hoops were raised so we couldn't even shoot so we couldn't get anything out of the trip.

Funny thing is that he was watching the USC vs CAL game while the assistant coach took us.

So my buddy and I used about 15 bucks on gas to basically waste our time.

Sometimes I wonder why I gave up my university scholarship for JUCO basketball. D1 was a lot more organized then this.

Good thing this only for one year.

Sorry to hear about that... You shouldn't be too hard on your coach, though - misunderstandings make the world go round!
