    Don't mis-quote me lol.
I think my game version offline says that it's the number of cards in your deck - 5, which should in theory be somewhere in the +15 damage range early in a fight:P Alas, it is no where near that effective for me so I took them out and never looked at them again.

"Raises AP of attack by 5 minus the number of cards in hand, no gain if result is negative."
is a quote from what PSOW has as the text for this card.

I have a deck for each character, just create my decks around the individual characters strengths and weaknesses.

But that's what it says in the game anyway =
Basically, all assault means in a translation (this is my opinion):
Adds 5 AP minus the number of cards in your hand. youll at least get 1 damage in assuming you have four or less cards in your hand... its actually quite useful when you have a high dice roll.
Take this big chain for example:

    Sword/gun/cane/NA/AB/MC/DK/SH/whatever attack
    Stab
    Chaotic attack
    assault
    Split boost

That will do a lot of damage when used in the right situation.

EDIT:for the first bit, it says deck in the game, but thats the only difference.
