I've got two computers on a network, one computer is able to connect to the patch server while the other is not.

The one that is not is a fresh installation of Win XP SR2. I've disabled the firewall on this system already. The other computer works fine w/o having the specific ports forwarded to it. Anyone have any idea what this could be?

Can you elaborate some on what the particular issue was here?

I know some other people that have been having mysterious problems like this....

    Hey guys,

Sorry for the delay in getting this to you. We have been working to make sure this works correctly and it appears to fix users experiencing problems connecting to the servers. This fix may apply to users experiencing the following problems:

    903 Errors
    916 Errors
    Matrix Style Hangs

Please try this fix and report if there are problems. The fix is specific to nforce3 and nforce4 chipsets with on board lan cards.

    1. Open Control Panel
    2. Open System
    3. Select the Hardware tab
    4. Select Device Manager
    5. A window will appear with a list of devices, click the + symbol next to Network Adaptors
    6. Right Click the Nvidia nForce Network card and select Properties
    7. Choose the Advanced tab
    8. Select Checksum Offload
    9. Set the Value to Disable
I have attached a screenshot of the Adanced tab here:

Hopefully this fixes the issue for a lot of people on this board!

My own situation is that I ended up having a default installation on a nforce board. I used the onboard network card to try to play PSOBB. I knew there was nothing wrong with my setup outside of the computer because I had another system running off the same router to connect PSOBB. The nforce board wouldn't connect. Would give me a 903 error when trying to patch.
