I have cable, so if I get the BBA i stick it in the bakc of GC and then I can just take the cable wire out of the cable modem and put it in the BBA on my GC?

This could be a problem because the place where I plan on playing PSO2 is in one room and my cable connection is in my room.

Anything I can do? just get an extension wire or something? Any ideas will help.

WHen you switch the cable modem wire from the computer to your gamecube (or gamecube to computer), you'll probably need to disconnect the power to the cable modem for a few minutes.

Ever thought of going wireless? Wireless hubs are getting cheaper nowadays and don't depreciate the signal that much.
