Yeah... for many years now I was on dial up and finally got Cable yesterday but know even step one of setting any of this stuff up.
How do I make my PS2 able to connect online with Cable/Broadband? Do I need a special cable or anything? And Also about the Network Settings... please help...

It's best that you give more info on your set-up, whatever setting that you currently have. But I'll tell you mine, just in case.

I'm using TW/Earthlink cable. I connect PS2 to the router by an ethernet cable. The router is also my DNS & DHCP server, so it gives automatic IP address whenever I connect online. The settings on PS2 are basically saying that the router is the DNS & DHCP server.
Blink & you might miss it! ;3

Oh, keep sig at 600x180 px & 49KB, yah?
