Don't get me wrong, I love this weapon on my HUne... It just attacks so got-damn slow! Not really the first three hits, but the last two... oh god! Do you notice the long ass pause after the final stab!? Sure, you can kill most enemies in a combo with 'em on V-Hard, but the speed of the enemies WILL have them run up on you and whup yo' ass when you killed one of them... I gotta ask, does God/Battle help much with these weapons? Cuz the last stab on these things are ridiculous!

That's why I usually only do the first 2 hits in the combo with my Yamato...that is, slash and double-slash (using hard attack, of course). Then I run around the enemy, rotate camera angle, and repeat the combo. I do the 3rd hit only if I know it will kill my target, or it's against a boss, or if I know that I will get hit regardless of whether I do the 3rd hit or not.

Casting Shift/Deband on yourself, and Jellen on your enemies, tend to result in huge reductions in the kind of damage enemies do to you, which allow you to use your twin swords with relative impunity. For example, on Vhard forest, Boomas do around 30 - 40dmg per hit. After I have Deband on and the Boomas have Jellen, they can't do any damage whatsoever.

Alternatively, you could use a partisan or sword weapon to soften them up before switching to twin swords to finish.

Hmmm... I always use Shifta/Deband.... but I always seem to neglect my Jellen... Meh... I'll give it a try when I get home...
