I just got PSOX last week after not playing PSO since v2 on the DC.
I noticed that hit materials never drop anymore, regardless of id. Are they still in the game and just super rare now? Or did they take them out because it was too easy to max out ATA? Sorry if this has been asked before, my search didn't turn up anything. |

I'm pretty sure they don't exist anymore. As to why, probably as you said, because they are unbalancing.

Um.. hmm.. I don't know about xbox version but on the gamecube version Hit material do exist. It can only be found in Challenge mode though. So, I think it should be the same for xbox.
