i hate when people use that logic. as if you can just perfect block everything without consequence. do you really wanna lose chain time due to Pblocking? and human is definately better at blast guage pads.

ive tried to get my def to a point where i cant get knocked down but it seems impossible with monsters super cheap knockdown priority. ive tried super armor but it only stops damage based knockdowns. foverse is great but i dont recast it every time it runs out

Maybe I should make a new topic for this or study videos or something, but how are you guys perfect blocking everything? It's not insanely hard usually, but some enemies seem to attack so randomly and delayed that it's nearly impossible to read. And some attacks I couldn't imagine perfect blocking, like those for bosses' attacks that are off screen due to their size, or area of effect. If I sit around and wait for an enemy to attack, I can usually gauge and block accordingly, but with 4 or more enemies on screen it's impossible to focus on one enemy's behavior.

Anyway, how are you able to consistently perfect guard all types of enemies to render defense less useful? I admit I'm not as skilled as most players, and my reflex actions go for dodging 99% of the time, but it seems like there's sometimes you're just going to take some damage.

theres an ability that increases the time frame you can perfect block in. it also makes you take 0 dmg when blocking normally with a shield. but yeah its hard to pblock on the fly unless something telegraphs its attack. and some new bosses give little warning for thier attacks. for example i cant predict volna grafka's spin but it doesnt matter anymore since my human can take that hit easily. with my dewman im randomly blocking trying to anticipate the spin because it can 1 shot her if im too close.

I don't know most of the time, My mind is telling me to block and it will always lead to a perfect block even though I don't have the skill. well 80% percent most of the time. Maybe I am just used to those monsters.

For me, I don't really know any kind of enemy since I haven't played for such a long time...but I also equipped the perfect block extending skill, it really works like a charm. I actually feel like I can tank most enemies 1 on 1 now, even as a Duman Vanguard with bones made completely of glass.

Of course, I'm still a flighty dodger at heart, which helps to get behind an enemy after a frontal attack. I've never played a Human, so I don't know if they can just stand there and take it or what, but I have been noticing an increasing trend of enemies taking forever to kill. If Duman helps with that in any way, you've got your solo race.

Also, if we are to assume you're "losing" chain time by not P.blocking, what is happening when you don't negate an attack? Getting hit and possibly staggered/knocked down? That definitely does wonders for a chain.
- This is true. But what will I recommend for all of us is do what you do best. All of us have different play styles and preference so might as well check really what you do like best. Godspeed I know you will enjoy PSP2I with your VA Dewman

Just learn the Damage Resist for your Vanguard and equip it to a Duman to make sure it survives blows much better... Its also how I manage to keep my Female Newman Hunter alive from one-hit kills when fighting monsters at higher levels... XD

Now we all wait for the Rappy Deity of Vengeance that granted its followers eternal life to punish all humans...

Did you mean the Half Defense skill that keeps you alive through any hit > 50% of your HP, if you have at least 1/3? It's a really good idea if I'm having issues with perfect guard, and especially for bosses. I'll definitely look into that since I went with Duman. Hopefully it doesn't cost too many ability slots, until I rebirth and get the additional slots it's really rough to pick while keeping the 25% xp ability on.

Thanks for the input!

Im a Soloist too beacause i dont hav the chance to play online. (dont like it anyways)
I would prefer Humans because they can act as every class (not that good as Ranger)
But Cast is a epic Soloclass too.
Casts cac act be a pretty good Hunter,Ranger and Vanguard.
Its also funny to use a Force Cast because its little thrill and challenge.
To make ur soloplay easier u can make several toon and level them so they can help u
in the Infinity Missions.
Its pretty epic.
