Default Will not start after update - 07-23-2012, 04:45 AM

I was away a few days on vacation , and when i got back. I updateded and this poped up.

In the box its Norwegian and says
"Windows cant get access to the designated unit, lane or file. Maybe you do not have the right access level to this object"

Anyone else gotten this ? and what to do? Reinstall the game perhaps ??

My MAG misses me and needs food :O

The problem seems to be that the updater manages to lose file permissions for some people. I'm not entirely sure of the exact situations where it happens, but it does.
The only thing I can suggest for now is try setting your system's language for non unicode programs to Japanese, it is a Japanese game after all.

Apparently if i want to play i have to delete the file ''pso2launcher.exe'' and the ''pso2updater.exe''

and then rename the ''pso2launcher.exe.bak'' and the ''pso2updater.exe.back'' into only .exe files

Till i get a better solution i have to do this every single time i want to launch the game :S

You can also put back Reader/Writing authorization for you user account for each of those files in the properties.

That's what I've been doing for every updated that "corrupted" them.

The problem is, since it has happened to you once, it will happen to you again. All I can say is that remember that PSO2 is a Japanese game, so at least try out setting Windows to Japanese. If that works, there are ways to do this without restarting.

Doing it for just your user account is a problem. It is actually faster and a lot more flexible to re-enable inheritable permissions on that file.
