What am I meant to be doing as a Newman Vanguard? (Infinity)

I've been playing as a Newman Vanguard and been having a blast with the character, I'm a little bit puzzled about the play style though.

What weapons, techs, and should I really be doing to get the best performance out of my character?

As a Newman? I have no idea. Whatever you like and what work for you, I guess. In PSP2 vanilla, the main point of that character would have been to stack eva boosts and enjoy near invincibility. But EVA was nerfed in Infinity, so... yeah...

I guess you could still try that strategy, but it won't be as effective as it used to be.
