    Default Gameguard Update error

Hello, since yesterday I keep getting a gameguard error, everytime I try to start the game it opens an nProtect site with error 340, 351, 360, 380. I've tried manually deleting my gameguard folder, using the tweaker "Fix gameguard problems", uninstalling my anti virus and disabling the firewall but nothing seems to work.

A friend was playing PSO2 fine, logged out for a bit, came back and now Gameguard won't run. It's not even in services. Trying to figure out the problem now. If I figure out how to fix it I'll post here.

I had this problem myself a long time ago but I don't remember how I fixed it.

Can you check some things for me?

After using Fix Gameguard Errors (which removes Gameguard), does running the launcher or tweaker recreate the Gameguard folder and files?

With the Gameguard folder and files present, can you please do this:
Go to start, click run and type services.msc.
In that list, look for the nProtect Gameguard service. I want to know if it's there or not.
Also, go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ (or System32 if you're running 32-bit OS) and look for gamemon.des, npp9x.vxd and npptNT2.sys.

Going from experimenting with my friend's PSO2, it seems that Gameguard is downloading the files but failing to copy them into the system folder, and failing to register Gameguard as a service.
I'd like to know if you're having the exact same problem.

Yes, when I try to launch the game the gameguard folder is recreated.
And none of those files are in syswow64, nprotect gameguard service isn't there either.

Okay, sounds like the same problem. Still trying to figure it out.
On my notebook, if I "Fix Gameguard" to remove those files, then reboot, the service is gone.
Running the launcher or Tweaker restores those files and also restores the service.

So, for some reason, the service isn't being restored. The Gameguard error implies that there's some kind of error in updating.

I'd imagine the problem might be one of these:
    - Gameguard can't get permission to install the service.
    - PSO2 can't connect to the Gameguard server that's required to install the service
    - PSO2 or Gameguard broke something that prevents certain IPs or setups from installing the service

I'm thinking of trying to install Gameguard via other methods.
Will write here if I figure anything out.

It does have something with certain IP's, I used a VPN to try it and it updated gameguard and started the game just fine.

Hmm, okay. It doesn't work for my friend even if they use a VPN.
    Still stuck.

Friend finally fixed the problem. Whether or not something changed on SEGA's side, I don't know.
This is what they said they did:
    1. In the Tweaker, "Fix Gameguard issues" (ie. delete all Gameguard files and registry keys).
    2. Delete gameguard.des in the PSO2 main folder (if it's still there).
    3. Run the official PSO2 launcher, which redownloads gameguard.des.
    4. Before clicking start game, delete gameguard.des again.
    5. Click start game. PSO2 launcher should now update Gameguard "properly".

Yeah my friend's PSO2 broke again after one successful try and it no longer works.

Out of curiosity, what ISP are you on?
