from the sound of the judge talking about the case... it seems highly unlikely that they will get convicted... i.e. they need to have intended to cause panic (uh... yeah... not quite)... It's an amazing level of publicity for the movie though... like you can't buy this kind of exposure.

I'd vote Frylock for president, if he ran for the office.

Yes, I live in the Boston area, and I am ashamed.
We're all jumping at every little sound, constantly looking over our shoulders, and pointing at everything as being suspect. Rampant paranoia, anxiety, confusion, panic and fear. Over what? A friggin' Lite-Brite? Shit, if that's the case, the real terrorists won a long time ago, having achieved exactly what they wanted.
Give me a break.
Mayor "Mumbles" Menino wants to string up the poor dupes that hung the signs (for only $300, natch) because they played the whole thing off as a joke. Joke's on us, Bahstuhn! The friggin' things were in 13 other cities for up to three weeks(!) without incident. What makes us different? The fact that 9/11 "started" here? A misplaced sense of guilt over something that was never our fault? Please.
Turner shouldn't be all to blame either. No one's talking about lynching the NYC ad execs who came up with the idea of guerilla marketing ATHF in such a way; those same execs that told the duo to "pretty please keep everything on the DL". Christ. Turner's paying up, though. Almost a million dollars in manpower and manhours chasing the Mooninite "bombs".
(You'd think that if terrorists were going to build Lite-Brite bombs featturing cartoon characters, that they'd pick more well-known ones than Ignigtunaut (sp?) and Err...)
Menino is also calling on the public to boycott the ATHF movie (due in theaters April 13). Smooth. But he forgets that those who would boycott Cartoon Network, ATHF, their local theater, whatever, are the people who never would have gone to see it in the first place.
eBay has removed auctions of the Mooninite lites citing that "they incite violence". What? Because Ignigtunaut (sp?) is flipping the bird? Gahd.
GET A GRIP, PEOPLE!
Turner's genius. The ad company, genius. ATHF, super-genius.
Just thought I'd get all of this off my chest.

Still it's funny I applaud Time Warner.
All in all it boils down to stupidity of people. Carry on no surprise.

It's Turner. and We're not all idiots over here, just all the higher-up people. And they make the smart people look bad. Seriously, though. America is a frightened chiled right now. over light. you know it's gotten to the point where , at an airport we overheard some sucurity things, and a bunch of security guards were acting like something huge was going on, as if they found a bomber. Here it turned out that some 80-year-old in a wheelchair, very immoble couldn't take off his shoes for inspection. in fact he could barley move. they wouldn't even let someone else take off his shoes for him. THAT IS HOW TERRIBLY STUPID OUR GOVERNMENT IS...mostly. at least it's not 100% idiotic. they haven't installed secrity cameras around everyone's houses...YET.
