Okay, I opened up Ultimate when my FOmarl was a lvl 73. I'm 81 now, and those bastards on Ultimate like to have me for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Maybe deserts, too. Basically, I can only do Ultimate Forests cuz I tried Caves, and, uh, those guys just throw Megid at you left and right. It's like their standard attack, or something. (Not to mention they kill you in ONE hit most of the time.) How can I survive Ultimate Caves without dying? Level up like crazy?

Deband and Jellen are your friends against physical attacks. Finding God/HP units may also be helpful in surviving. As for the Ob Lilies, you can keep them occupied by repeatedly casting Rafoie, Razonde, or Rabarta when there's more than one. Doing that won't give them a chance to spit Megid at you. Beyond that, your only other choice is to level up.

Or wear armor and units that raise resistance to dark. Spirit Garment and 3 resist Devils, and I can run headlong into a room of them, and taunt them while others kill them.

Solo, is actually easier. Hitting them with techs will keep them offbalance, and if your lucky, Rabarta will freeze them over. They don"t like Grants too much, so if your Grants is decent level, make use of that FOmarl bonus.

Thanks for the tips, guys. I had a different strategy when I played Caves earlier today, though. Basically, if any enemy pops up, I ran like hell to the door and just shoot techniques like crazy. That way, they can't hurt me at all while I just stand back and laugh at their attempts to eat me. So far, this strategy's working off in Ultimate Mines. LOL.

That's been my standard solo ranger tactic since hard

It's the best tactic for those of us who can't take more than two or three hits from anything, and don't have strong melee. Even a hunter, if thy don't have a good multi-hit weapon (Partisan, sword, slicer, double sword (Not double saber) or bad armor, hp, ATP, etc...should often just stand back and keep on stinging them with a handgun or something. It's ESPECIALLY useful if you'r an android and can set damage traps.
