We all know many games out there get a bunch of sequels, but what series do you feel need to die? Games that have not offered anything more than its predisesors, and don't deserve to live on. Give your reason for each. Keep it calm everyone, and not get into a flaming frenzy for each other's choices

Here's my picks:

Mario Party games: Full price for something that been pretty much the same as the first. Nintendo should kill this already.

Madden NFL games: Full price for something tat is pretty much the same thing every year. Anyone who has a collection in their closet is a fuckin' idiot.

Dynasty Warriors games: Very little difference between each sequel. Series need to be buried already

Mortal Kombat games: Newer ones never did much for the fighting Genre. Please end already.

Halo games: Internet hype it doesn't deserve, and there FPS better than this.

My wanted games of 2013:
Last of Us(PS3), Bioshock Inifinte(PS3), Hyperdimension Neptunia V(PS3), Ys Celceta(Vita), Beyond: Two Souls(PS3), Legend of Heroes:Sen no Kiseki (PS3, JP version)

I have to disagree with a few of these.

Mario Party, for the Wii, is a big change. I'll agree that Mario parties 3-Wii version weren't that great.

Madden Games I'll partially support. The big changes are graphics and playability. They're constantly working on better systems to improve the game (and make cash).

No experience with Dynasty Warriors.

Mortal Kombat games need to die, it got old after the SNES.

Halo has made many leaps in it's sequels... All three. It's slightly but not nearly as much as it used to be. The big name now is CoD4 apparently.

Also, why isn't Final Fantasy on this list? The only thing that I can find that is redeeming about games is the apparent focus on story over gameplay (though I've never played one myself so I couldn't say).

You really can't ask a developer to end it's flagship series. To say the Final Fantasy series should die is akin to saying the Mario series [in its entirety] needs to die.

'Sides. Square's not the best at making other games. >_>

Halo is ending, or so it seems.

Mario Party....ehh....it is going a tad too far.

Madden: These will never end until Madden himself is dead.

Final Fantasy's aren't really a sequel: Square Soft just makes different ones, but still the Final Fantasy feel in gameplay. Only Final Fantasy that ever had a sequel ws FFX and FFX-2. All others have nothing to do with each other, kind of like The Legend of Zelda games. None are the same story, but still have the same focus: You are the hero that somehow saves the world.

I'd have to say....well...I like the new Pokemon games, just the pokemon are starting to get really lame in them.....1st set of them will always be the best.

I'd be willing to argue that, but not here.
Simplified: Usually some Zelda games are connected, but not all of them are to each other. But that kind of discussion I would rather save for my forums.

Anywho. I am not partial to the new Pokémon games. I stopped at Silver. I never really liked any sports games, especially ones that announce a year. Star Wars is going a bit far, in my opinion. Save for Battlefront 2. I liked that

Only ones that have ever been connected are Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass.

But like Final Fantasys, Zelda's have the same theme.

Zelda = Defeat Ganondorf.
Final Fantasy = Defeat uber evil guy.

It's not really 'sequels', but Sega needs to stop abusing the Phantasy Star name.

Megaman X. I guess it's finally died now, but it went on for about four games too long. >_>

Final Fantasy. I gave up on both 8 and 10. Never played 9 or 12 and don't really want to. >_>

Umm... Your first sentence is wrong. And I can prove it. Allow me to read you a sentence from a guide I own.
"Link's Awakening tells the tale of the hero of A Link To The Past and how after his first great victory he set out on a mission of training, to hone his skills, sharpen his wits and master techniques of battle from around the world" (The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening Nintendo Player's Guide, 8 )

Plus, NOBODY could argue OOT and MM are connected. You'd have to have never played the games to say that.

Dammit! You got me into a Zelda-researcher/geek moment! >.<

All Zelda games are connected, Save Princess/world, kill Ganon/Ganondorf, get no putang

Mortal Kombat is dead, after the last one they stated we are done with the series and going somewhere else... or they lied
