Jerky won't vary that much in taste. In terms of flavor, you are mostly just eating the spices. The texture is gonna be the main difference in that case, but since they are both so dehydrated, even that will be miniscule. Now, try a beef steak and a deer steak, and there's a noticeable difference, both in taste and texture. Same with chili.

Never had a deer steak, and I think I'd rather not. I just don't like the idea of eating deer. *shrugs*
Beef, no problem. Besides, I have no idea where to get deer steak.

don't know about other states, but in MO you have to hunt it, or by it from some specialty stores (and even then it's more like summer sausage type stuff, never actual steak.) There's some law or something that prevents it from being put in grocery stores. Has to do with wholesale laws I think. Never looked into it to much, my dad hunts deer, and gives me some every now and then.

Beating a deer with a stick would be far crueler (cruller) than shooting it.

Also, the deer would probably beat you up.

I had Bambi burgers, deer steak, and deer jerky before, but not deer chili. Might have to try it.

I had deer sausage once. It was the best sausages I have ever eaten, and I never eat that canned chilli crap. It's so easy to make why bother.
