For the past 5-7 seasons the dallas mavericks have always been a threat to win the NBA championship however after being eliminated in the first round for two consecutive years, i have come to the conclusion that they have missed out on their opportunity to be champions.

Dallas just fired avery johnson today.....even though im a rockets fan i dont believe the mavs should have ever traded for jason kidd. he just doesnt fitt into the style of team the mavs are

WoW holycrap are you serious they fired avery.... it's not his fault at all but then again dirk will never accept responability and mark cuban is pissed i guess lol avery is always welcome to join the spurs as an assistant coach.

Dirk is a choke joke. Seriously, how can you lose 4 STRAIGHT IN THE FINALS???? That wasn't so bad for me, it was the back and forth he had afterwards w/Wade that made me lose all respect for him. The next year (I think it was the following year anyways) they are a #1 seed and lose to the Warriors in the 1st round and are out again in the 1st. The only thing is it is so hard to get equal value trading elite players in the NBA. I doubt a Dirk led team could ever win it all. He needs to be on a team where some1 else is the leader.

I agree kevlar it requires a special quality a killer instinct to lead a team to a championship if you look at the old videos of like shaq in 2000. in the finals the lakers lost game one but won games 2&3 and like after every play& game shaq kept saying we havent done anything their is no need to celebrate dirk and dallas on the otherhand acted like they won 50 billion dollars and then they pissed wade off.
