Arrow PSU Antialiasing - 02-08-2009, 10:53 PM

Saw some posts on the JP uploader showing PSU with AA enabled, figured I'd give it a whirl.
Normally, enabling AA through the Ncpl causes transparency issues in the guise of huge ugly black boxes, enabling Anti-Aliasing Compatibility using nHancer fixes this.
Don't forget to keep your drivers up to date, I'm currently using Forceware 185.20β at the moment.

Tested and Working: Beta build of nHancer (http://forum.nhancer.com/showpost.ph...2&postcount=18) with the latest WHQL forceware (190.62) and AA Compatibility 0x80000243

Spoiler!

Looks a little better... maybe try taking some pics with melee weapons?

I'm curious to see if the photon weapons look a little smoother as well.

Wouldn't you like to be a Pepper too?

nHancer website: http://www.nhancer.com/
Download, install, enable compatibility, get AA!

No AA (Top) vs CS4x (top), check the edge of the sword.

Spoiler!

More pictures, boxed to avoid frame breaking.

You can also see the difference on the lights in the background and the transporter crystal your facing. Looks a bit better ^_^

Looks great. Gonna take a crack at it once my GTX 285 comes in.

I thought only the JP guys covered their names. I thought US/EU-born players weren't scared about displaying their character names?

How does this affect the games performance? Does it run any slower?

Also, my graphics card automatically lets me put up to 14xAA in any game that i'm playing.

Is it still good to download this software, or is this for people with older graphics cards, who want to see better performance?

That's the thing. Forcing AA in PSU without using nHancer's compatibility settings causes transparency issues (as in, transparency doesn't work, causing black backgrounds to show up on normally transparent/semi-transparent textures.

Good to know.

So, can we ask for a link here? Or should I just google Nhancer?

EDIT: my bad, just saw the link...

EDIT Part 2: Hmmmm... seems kinda sketchy... it doesn't seem to do anything different from the standard NVIDIA control panel, that comes with the graphics card in the computer... but, to anyone else who wants to try it, don't let me stop you. I just don't want to screw up my Brother's computer.
