I plan on hunting for a couple of melan knuckles soon. Does anybody know what spawns I need to get the rare map?

It's totally random. The map is the same.

Oh I see so what your saying is if i get a jaggo spawn the melan will spawn?

Depends,every time i've gotten Jaggos i've gotten Melans but Beatrix said he got Jaos and no Melans one time so who knows.

ive had jaggos 6 times now and not once did i see a melan spawn.

hoping to get 1 myself before gbr begins.

the way i see it, if jaggos spawn, then you have a rare map. but melan's are only there 50% of the time.
doesnt mean you get it every second time u get the rare as i found out the hard way.

I see well that sucks i guess im gonna have to wing it for now. BTW which path does the melan spawn? Is it ether one or one path they spawn only at?

when you finish the room with the jaggo's, you leave the room.
then you meet the 2 player's from the solo mission. cant rememebr their names.

you have 2 keys and 2 door's.

if you go straight, then you fight loads of vanda derma's, bil de vear's and carriguine's but not magashi.

if you go left, you fight bil de vear's and carriguine's and magashi.

bil de melan is a rare enemy and will replace bil de vear if spawned in the map.

the left root is:
2 bil de vear's in a room.
1 carriguine down the ramp.
2 bil de vear's up next ramp.
2 carriguine's when they are dead.
2 more bil de vear's when they are dead.

leave room, magashi.

if you go straight, you get:
vanda derma's in room. 6 i think.
2 bil de vear's on a bridge (SUV time)
vanda derma's, bil de vear and carriguine's in after bridge
(lots of re-equip traps in here, very easy with rifles.)

thats about it dude.
i played 6 more runs last night, got rare twice, and still no melan's :/

In the same block where the melans are supposed to spawn. (C-2?) You need 2 Carriguines as the start off. Then you have the rare spawn. (Melans)

You HAVE to take the left route though. There's no Melans in the straight route.

And yes, you can get Jaggos without Melans. I've seen all 3 possibilities of rare maps: Jaggos and Melans, Jaggos without Melans, and Melans without Jaggos.

The rare root is:

2 Carriguine in a room.
1 carriguine down the ramp.
2 Bil de Melan up next ramp.
2 carriguine's when they are dead.
1 Bil de Melan and 1 more Carriguine

The true indicator are the Carriguine instead of Bil de Vear.

Currently the straight route gives more drops and money because of the Vanda Orga. However if you want Melan, you should take the left route and hope for Carriguine. Once the final route is opened up with Magashi, the boxes and most other useful items will drop from the left room.
