Well, Live is a hell of a lot cheaper per year than PSU, and words cannot express how much more you get. That should help.

I've heard of people doing that. But then I also heard that when you do do that you run a very high risk of getting your Xbox's system ID banned from Xbox Live because they can actually detect things like that.
Though I'm sure a lot of people have probably been doing that for a while and haven't been caught yet.
Reminds me, I can actually get this update right now if I felt like it. The preview beta was leaked online a long time ago and since I have a transfer cable that let's me connect my HDD to my computer it's only a matter swapping out a few files. Though there is a bit I still gotta learn and I just don't really feel like it. The only modding I've actually done so far was unlock all the achievements on one of my gamertags.

Well, paying for it isn't a huge deal, I just said that I'm not paying for something I use once in a while. If I spend the, what, $60 bucks on XBL then I have a reason to use it, don't I?

I'm sure I can find other games I like that go online. Just gotta do some looking around.

When you buy it at a retail store you also usually get an extra free month. Well, worth it.
I think everyone who actually complains about the fee hasn't actually payed one yet. Trust me, once your set for a year and you start playing, you know it was well worth it.

I had Xbox Live when Gears of War 1 came out, but I didn't have a 360 then. I borrowed my friends and another friend paid for XBL.
I also had XBL when it was just Xbox, no 360.
So I've had it before, just not recently, or since I've owned my own Xbox.
Like I said, I'm not worried about paying, I just wish it were free. I'm sure I will use it a lot anyway.
Left 4 Dead and Gears of War 2, and any other games my friends will let me borrow that go online I'll use.

Probably won't bother you, because you hack your achievements. (Unless you've found a secret uber leet hax way of getting the Dark Falz 2 achievement on PSU

But I would surmise (and I don't have a PS3, so I can't be sure about this) that there would be more riff raff on a free server.

Actually, most online retailers sell the 13-month card for around $30.

It's pretty cheap, all things considered.
