Default Lots of lag recently? - 01-11-2010, 03:26 PM

The last few days the lag online seems to have gotten really bad. A bunch of slowdown and groups of friends getting d/c before we can finish a run. Is this happening to anyone else?

Hasn't happened to me, though I mostly play Free Play. Got 15 FCs and not many seem to be ever on...

Anyway, watch your WiFi signal strength, next time. If it drops, that explains it.

Host needs a good signal strength too. I think if they d/c, you all d/c, since the maps are being made from their game, if I understand correctly.

It is happening constantly. I have not had a problem until yesterday. It is out of control. We keep trying different hosts and different people. It starts out as really bag slowdown and then one or more people gets D/C. It is really sucking.

That is strange.

PS0 isn't run on any servers, like some think. It's in the DS and just sends a signal out, via WiFi, to connect to others. Because of this, it must be someone's signal strength or ISP.

It's been lagging on me as well.

Though it wasn't lagging at all at first, until some random Japanese version user had unexpectedly dropped out (...kinda like myself... possibly w/ an error code... coughcoughhelpcough), but it didn't register for at least 5 minutes, which caused some major lagging. D:

Well, I definitely have experienced the lag recently. I doubt it has to do with my signal strength because I usually play close to my wifi source and I almost always have all of the green bars in the signal strength box. Still, today I had some problems with lag both when I was playing with Crash and others and the one time I played free play. It might just be a one time problem though since I have not experienced much lag before today. My suggestion would be to try to wait it out a little before determining if there really is a problem.

If the problem continues through a few game attempts, try turning the DS off/on and try again. That and sitting closer to your WiFi source are the only things I can think of to help.

Personally, I have 3 rooms and a hallway between my DS and my WiFi source. Microwave and cordless phone between them and no problems at all.

I think it isn't actually, because I'm left as the last when lots of times. I seem to get kicked out only when I'm not doing anything, like just walking. If I have a menu open or something, people will leave and it doesn't affect me at all, so I think it kicks everyone out only if you aren't doing something...though I could be wrong...this only happens when I connect with friends, not free play though. Free play, anybody logging off doesn't affect me at all...

Yeah, I've never had anything happen that caused me to d/c during Free Play.

Connected with friends however, I've gotten a d/c saying something like "the host has left" and asks me if I want to save.
