http://wog.main.jp/psp2i-wiki/mika/ is the right url. Googling "pspo2i wiki" should bring this up though it may differ depending on country.

If you're not doing good firearm damage, it's probably because you're not using those weapons. It does get boring using only those two weapons, but if you're running solo and need to be the powerhouse on the team - that's your best bet. Shame, though, since using shotty all the time can get boring. I miss my twin handguns being worth a damn like they were on PSP2. Now they're only good online where their aptitude as chain builders really shines.

Shinowa Hidoki are still a real bitch though. They seem highly resistant to both Melee and Ranged. Being a Cast Ranger, my technique profile and pallet are lacking. Might want to avoid missions with those enemies for awhile.
actually lasers are useful too since the laser CS2 ignores gun resistance.

I'm not much fan of guns tbh so i never really gave them a try, i only kinda have guns incase i needed them to trigger switches and such but for combat i never use guns. I do have my Twin Yasminkov 2000H on my pallete though always. Then again im a Newman Vanguard and no Ranger/Cast so i won't be able to do much damage with guns anyway.

I'll give it a try once i get my beast high enough to rebirth for 10 extend codes (can get 7 right now) so i can swap back to my main.

DO NOT REBIRTH FOR EXTEND CODES! theres 2 missions where you can trade 15 extend fragments for an extend code.

Yeah, but the CSII laser animation fires in a horizontal arc which hits multiple enemies for much less damage than the sustained fire of CSI. It's of little use against enemies with large HP pools and the power to knock you around, like the Shinowa Hidoki. A case could be made for crowd control, but with the three attack burst from a charged shotty, I find that it preforms better than Laser CSII even against most ranged resistant enemies. Plus, there's the knockdown effect which can give you the much needed time to retreat and reposition yourself rather than getting gang-rushed mid-animation. I don't recall the laser CSII being able to do that.

If anything, the laser is more of a substitute for the rifle via CSI, though it sadly lacks the range needed to be truly effective. Still, when it's in range and there's a decent chain built - the laser CSI can be devastating for sustained fire on a single target. If it's CSI ignored ranged resistance too, it would have a more permanent place in my pallet.

On the plus side, Laser CSII makes a great Positron Bolt for my Wren alt.

That depends on the length of the missions you run. In 13 or so runs of Magashi, you can get to a level high enough for 10 extend codes by rebirth. Different online extra missions may have better exp-time rates but rebirthing isn't a bad way to gain extend codes at a low level.
