Six Degrees is godly. Love every second of it. The performance from the Score DVD is abso-fucking-lutely amazing.
Yes, I love the Score album. Particularly the 6 Degrees and Octavarium parts.

My favorite album will always be Images and Words, just because it was what got me into DT. I also really like A Change of Seasons, which seems to be a forgotten epic, taking the backburner to Octavarium & Count of Tuscanny.

I wasn't a big fan of the new album, but it's grown on me a little. I just hate the mixing... I don't know what the heck they were thinking when they were mixing it. However, Breaking All Illusions is one beastly awesome song.

Images & Words is my second favorite album. Along with Six Degrees, it too feels like an album that was honed and picked away at until it was as flawless as it could be and given super-clean production as a cherry on top.

And yeah, totally agree about the mixing on Dramatic Turn. It's got a terrible radio friendly style mix/mastering and individual instruments just don't pop the way they did with previous albums. I can't help but think the lack of Portnoy's studio expertise may have been the cause. Even though I didn't enjoy Systematic Chaos or Black Clouds... very much, the mixes were still pretty stellar.

I wasn't a big Systematic Chaos fan, but I did enjoy some of Black Clouds. For instance, I loved Count of Tuscany. I like parts of Nightmare to Remember ("Hopelessly drifting, bathing in beautiful agony"), but I definitely get where you're coming from.

I love the "big" tracks from those two albums. Nightmare To Remember, Count of Tuscany, and especially both parts of In The Presence of Enemies. I really like The Best of Times from Black Clouds too, but it's more of a personal thing than the song being really great. Just puts me in a good place. (I'm a sap.)

Live energy, but I do believe Claudio was having trouble with those high notes that night.
