Default PSO Perler Bead Coasters (and other bead sprites I've made) - 06-10-2011, 04:22 PM

Perler beads are round, plastic beads that you place on a pegboard, then melt together into a solid image with a clothing iron. Due to their similarity to pixels, many people make video game sprites into perler bead projects.

Thanks! I'm glad you like them.. They are not hard to make, though there is work involved when I initially design them. If I had made them pixel for pixel, a single "coaster" would have been the size of a dinner plate! So I have to cut out some detail to make the whole thing smaller. That's the only challenge for these. I'm pretty sure Rabarta and Special Attack would be the death of me!

I'd like to make another (different) set of PSO coasters in the future..

Here's my latest:

Raiden mk-II from Raiden Fighters

These are amazing. I don't know if you do requests, but do you think you could do a Mega Man X one? Sprite sheet here if you need it, I was thinking maybe the bottom left sprite victory pose?

Thank you I've been meaning to do a Mega Man X one, I just couldn't decide which pose and how much armor (or not), so sure I could do that one! I'm also planning to do Zero from the original X in his "solemn" pose.

Landis (aka Duran) from Lords of Thunder (Turbo Duo, Sega CD, Wii Virtual Console) in Wind Armor.

Man, I haven't done one of these since I was a kid in elementary. Arts and crafts FTW. Completely forgot these even existed. Love the Donkey Kong Country and Raiden ones. Are the beads still cheap as dirt? Do you order them online or do you just go to an art store to get yours? If you do order them online, would be interested to know what site you grab them from. Seems like you've done a good job of getting the variety of colors you need.
