Default PSO BB system requirements - 05-28-2012, 08:26 AM

I will be getting a slightly used computer system in the near future and I was thinking of trying out one of the PSO BB private servers.

The question I have is this: What is the general system requirements for the client software?

A computer not built in the 80's should suffice.

PSO2 JP - Ian: Level 50/50 Human Fighgunner
PSU AotI JP - Ian: Level 180 Human Fighgunner 20 (Server shutdown as of 9-27-2012)
PSO BB - Break: Level 200 Pinkal FOmar ("Retired" as of 4-something-2012)

Blue Burst was released in 05. As long as the computer doesn't have an integrated graphics card, you should be fine.

Well, here's what I have in the way of Specs:

Pentium IV 1.8 Ghz
512 Mb Ram
AMD Radeon 7500 (memory size unknown)

How well will my system handle the game and what lvl of graphics can I expect.

<Sorry for the bump, but I knew I created this thread some time ago, but I didn't want to create a new thread>

The original system requirements are:

Operating System: Windows 98SE / Me / 2000 / XP [XP recommended]
Processor: Pentium III, 700 MHz [Pentinum 4, 1.4GHz or above recommended]
RAM: 128 MB [256 MB recommended]
Graphics Card: Direct3D compatible, 3D graphics board, minimum 32 MB VRAM [64 MB recommended]
HD: 1.5 GB
Sound Card: DirectSound compatible
DirectX: DirectX 9.0b or above
Internet Connection Speed: 256kbps minimum recommended

I believe the Radeon 7500 had 64MB of DDR SDRAM video memory, so it should be fine in that aspect. The only hangup might be the directx 9.0b requirement. The Radeon 7500 only fully supports up to directx 7. IIRC it supports some directx 8 features but not all (eg. no support for pixel and vertex shaders in dx8.) I would definitely give it a try though. It may run just fine with that card

Thanks very much. I will be downloading the game tomorrow then.

I actually tried PSOBB on this setup when it was first released in 2004 specs was

Intel Pentium III 750 mhz "Coppermine"
Nvidia TNT2 Model 64 Pro 32 MB VRAM
128 MB RAM DIMM
20 GB HDD Maxtor
Windows XP SP1

The game was able to run just fine in most areas at 640x480 on low-end! including CCA but for some reason it was very very slow on Ruins 2 lol

So anything higher than this can run the game with no problems!
