The one on the right is technically either or. Not enough detail to tell. One can only guess. I think those stating it are going by eye size and expression.

If the eyes were smaller, lowered the amount of rouge, made the smile more subdued, and they'd probably instantly change their tune.

I feel like the character could be a boy by the dress, and what they're supossed to be made me think its a boy.

It's possible, like I said. But anime is a style of often fixed expression and specific gender-fixed representations. There are certain poses never given to male characters unless raised female. Certain level of expressions also never given to male characters as well. Does it always have to be that way? Nah. Nothing has to be...but anime stereotyping is anime stereotyping.

I doubt they would mistake that for a girl or a man. It's more of a what and a scary TV.

And why? Because it only goes from 1 to 12, offering little to no programming in many areas save for maybe 2 news channels.

Oooh. Spoooky Sppirits!! I guess one could equate those strips to paper talisman or among those papers spirits can attach and manifest upon. But I wasn't going to guess that one, it could just be a person with papers, like a spritual practitioner. Maybe one of them simply *sees* dead people.

From what i've gathered. (I dont have the japanese translations to their character bios) is that the left girl is a shutin demon thing

while the girl to the right is something involving demons and spirits. Seen conversing with spirits and stuff. Walks them into heaven i imagine.
