I read that if you take your memory card out while your playing then you get disconnected you can just pop it back in and load ur guy from before you play! does it work?

Nope. At worst your entire character will be corrupted. At best, you'll lose a bunch of items. You're prolly talking about people taking advantage of lag, but you can never count on that.
