I have come to the conclusion that THIS Neilast and THIS Neilast are NOT one and the same. Just an unfortunate coincidence, that's all.
*stands down from high alert*
Besides, I have little doubt that my shiny Laconian skull would be mounted on a pole and paraded through the streets of Paseo by this point, if they were... >_<

Meh. Wake me up again when a US release for PSO2 is announced, mmkay? Mmkay.

There's no such thing as too much old-school Phantasy Star.

I wish people would stop denoting games as "old school"/"ol'skoo"/any other spelling you wanna use.
Hell, the term should be abolished, because you can just say "Old" and it'll mean the same bloody thing.
I can just imagine a couple of guys conversing. "Yeah, I gave my baby this old school rattle that used to be mine." "Word? Well, I found this old school piece of pizza in the couch, so I ate it." "Damn, that must been bad. I once ate a sandwich with some old school mayonnaise that had been sitting out in the sun.", and so on and so on and so on.
But yeah, too much Phantasy Star for you!

*laughs* but i think with games, old school fits... its made from programmers following the old school and recent games are not compareable to old games. so... old school (famicom pearls), new school (playstation influenced waste of diskspace).
and... yes i'd say that nei-last is not the real one... she looks more like a garanz to me...
(also: i hate pages with midi that you cant turn off immediately - gah!)

It's become so sickeningly "cool" in the world of gameing to like "old" games. Which is even more irritating when gamers themselves are not even "cool". I am constantly hearing people actually boast about having played old FF games, or PS games - and then saying things like "FF1-6 is so much better than FF7 and up" and the same for the PS series. NO. You are quite simply wrong. The games people develop will only logically get better. That is, indeed, why so many people bought FF7 in comparrion to the older ones. BECAUSE IT IS UNDENIABLY BETTER. Only a gamer trying to fit into the "cool" part of gameing (which is "uncool" in itself), would ever think about denying that obvious fact.
And yes, it's exactly the same with the PS series. PSO on the DC, is what FF7 was to that series. Don't be idiots and try to deny it, or say "it's all about your own opinion". They get better, not worse. The people making them learn new techniques, improve techniques and generally become better over time.
Bleh...you can't escape from coolbies even in the "uncool" world of gameing...

does that have any point? so you say the newer the better? i dont agree with that.
what about devil may cry 2? its dull, its short, its an insult. devil may cry 1 was better. same goes with silent hill (1 and 2). so you also say resident evil 3 is better than nr. 2? jet set radio and jet set radio future?
come on. in the past they made games that they liked themselfes. now they make games that have to sell and by that they have to appeal the dumb masses of casual gamers. its not needed today to make a good game. crap sells as well and brings way more profit in the end. how much brilliant games end as flops these days just because noone sees they brilliance...

Okay, not EVERY game series gets better in EVERY way with time. I just meant to get it accross, that generally, most games WILL get better with time - and the growing veiw that "old" games are all that, is quite stupid.

Actually, old games, especially when it comes to Phantasy Star, are "all that".
If there had been no Phantasy Star, there would have been no PSII, III (by far my favorite!), IV, or PSO. There would most likely have been no Skies of Arcadia, either, due to the two series sharing a common creative force.
Besides, there's no law saying that you have to play the older games. I'm just saying that without the so-called "old school", you gaming kindergarteners who have teethed on PlayStation 2 wouldn't be around.

Meh. Wake me up again when a US release for PSO2 is announced, mmkay? Mmkay.
