For those without cable, probably the only animes you'll catch are those mock-up ones on the Foxbox, or Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh on the WBKids, but these are the poor-man's animes. With cable, however, we have the Cartoon Network, offering shows on its Toonami and Adult Swim programming blocks. Caught on Adult Swim were advertisements that had a sort of tie-in with Adult Swim, but not anime related.

T-Mobile is using anime to advertise its mobile device thing (a Blackberry?) to make it look all fancy. Anyone notice they changed the guy's line near the end of the commercial now?

And in our physical world...um, well, Toyota got it wrong. Showing off their Scion vehicle for an "anime artist" named Eddie, they clearly got their brains in the shitter and try to pass off some no-longer unique cartoon-like CG characters. Complete idiots.

Also in our physical world, I actually start hearing people talk about a couple of animes. A guy I know is totally into Trigun and such. Others laugh and giggle to themselves when they've seen some hentai. It's high school, duh.

But anywho, don't you agree anime is starting to become more apparent nowadays?

Dunno about the US, but here in Korea, the manga (comic book) version is far more popular. Besides it not being actually aired, its easier, I suppose.

I'm a Korean, in Korea, that goes an international school, and has stayed in Japn for 6 years before coming here. That allows me to understand 3 different versions of a cartoon. I myself don't watch many, but then there's one I'm dead interested in right now:

"Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoiyo! Masaru-san!"

I haven't found it online except for

EDIT: Don't link to these kinds of websites. READ THE RULES

, using BitTorrent. I LOVE this anime! Its based on pure comedy, although its a bit old. I REALLY want to get more, but I can't find em except for the comics, which isn't as good. Dang it. There's also the possibility of DVDs, but they're hard to find as well. Everyone should check out this anime.

For those interested, its about this guy who trains himself the Martial art of Sexy Commando and establishes a club. He gets the [supposedly] main character into joinning this club, and eventually gets more guys into it, training for fightning aganist bullies or gangsters.

And no, its not hentai. Its rated PG in Japan, for some violence (although its a funny type of violence), and I guess the name itself.

Personally, I find it hard to get into the Anime they show on Cartoon Network. Guess it's just not really my thing. I've always been drawn more to the stuff they'll show late night on Starz Action channel.

Animes like: Cyber City Odeo, Bio-Hunter, Demon City Shinjoku, Tetsuwan Birdy the Mighty, Metropolis, New Dominion Tank Police, GunSmith Cats, Ghost in the Shell... ect. The two that I haven't seen on Starz that really caught my attention was Armitage PolyMatrix and Hellsing. I dunno where I saw it first.. but I remembered seeing Armitage as a little kid and I just happened to buy it on a fluke hoping it was the same one. The Dual Matrix sequel had a preview for Hellsing on it.. and it was pretty weird to say the least. Looked like the kind of Anime that would give you a headache after watching it for a few hours. I bought the first volume of DVDs out of curiosity.. and about 2 episodes into it I was on my way back into town to pick up the rest of the series. It is seriously a VERY good Anime... and an even better Manga.

DarkHorse comics is doing a translation and localization of it for US release sometime this December. I can't wait. n_n

You know, I *hate* it when they change lines or parts in commercials like that! It's like if dumbass soccer mom's with nothing better to do complain because they find it "offensive". The T-Mobile had a line changed, the Killian's commercial changed the part where it said "Dirty Dancing" and they showed some guys playing football in the mud, to "Getting Dirty". What the hell is up with people? I can't believe uptight religious jesus-ass-kissing freaks have to organize and complain about everything.

What's an angry religious group meeting like?

Man: "Did you see the latest Killian's commercial? It said the word dirty!"
Group: *gasp*
Man: "Lets all call in... and tell them to change it or we'll riot!
