I, Reenee, own a rare console produced by Sega.
It is called the Sega CDX.
This console is a Genesis/Sega CD hybrid, sized into a moderately big portable CD player. It is quite small, though.
Backstory: Genesis was made. Sega CD was made. People bought both. Sega releases combination pack of regular-sized Genesis along with Sega CD add-on to appeal consumers. Consumers buy this pack. Sega creates CDX. Little sales cause it to fail, as many already had the Genesis/SCD pack. Also makes this product RARE to find.
CDX Condition: used, but good. Only "damage" done was the latch in the back of the console to be jammed, where two AA's can be used to create the console into a portable CD player (albeit too big and heavy to carry around, but nice to have on your desk). AA's still in there. D'oh.
Other peripherals: 32X add-on. In good condition. Came with Virtua Figher in its hurrah. Bought 3 other 32X games (Knuckles Chaotix, Motocross Madness, and Virtua Racing). Genesis Mouse. What the hell did I use that for?
Genesis Games: Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles, some Mickey game (Disney, mind you), Rocket Knight Adventures, Animaniacs, Ballz (yes, Ballz), Marble Madness (PWNS, HANDS DOWN!), Taz in Escape From Mars, Zoop (hard as hell), Quackshot starring Donald Duck...think that's it.
Sega CD Games: SONIC CD (no way in hell will anyone get that for a while; used condition, but it works), Silpheed (kick-ass game), Hook (movie to video game thing), Mickey Mania (possibly one of the best Disney games ever made), Stellar Fire, Willy Beamish (god, how I remember that game...), World Cup 94 (eats up CDX's internal memory), Racing Aces (pretty killer if you progressed), Fahrenheit (CD/32X version), Chuck Rock II: Son of Chuck, and, why not, the worst 2 bucks I ever spent on a game...
...Sewer Shark.
I want to sell most of this stuff. Anybody got good ideas for prices? This stuff is in working condition and there was RARELY any damage done to them. Hell, I don't even remember damaging them at all. ALL NECESSARY POWER SUPPLY AND AUDIO/VIDEO WIRING INCLUDED. ZIP-LOCK FULL OF GAME MANUALS TOO!

...I've seen those things in stores a long time ago. I wish I had one...

ProTip: To damage your credibility, simply call any of the Phantasy Star games "massively-multiplayer."

No, Nomads sucked 'cause, what, you only got 2 hours out of the 6 D batteries you had to fit in or something.
I'm not selling these things here directly. All I need is an estimated value.

I wouldn't say it was 'rare', as it was mass produced around 1994.
Cute little system though, I wouldn't pay more than 80 bucks for one now though.. since I already have a few Genesis systems and a Sega CD.
*wants a Nomad. ;_;*

I'd give 100 dollars for one, upwards of 200 for it with all the games if it's in really good condition. That's just me though, you can probably get more cash out of someone else who's more collector oriented.
