Geico says:
Your 6 month GEICO Casualty premium is $985.10
Anyone know where I can get some insurance cheaper than that? *dies*

Have you tried Progressive? They gave us good rates, my cars under my moms policy so I get it cheaper but we only pay 900 bucks a year for full coverage. =D For a motorcycle I'd only pay about 289 bucks for a 6 month policy, can't wait for summer!

Get liability insurance. I think it is the minimum insurance one has to get in many states, and the other thing is...

You're an 18/19 year old male. That factors you into the highest risk group possible... high-risk ---> high premiums.

Basically, ditch the vehicle and buy a bike. Cheaper, since you don't pay for insurance, gas, and maintainence is probably simple. And think of all that excercise you'll be getting.

I live too far out to have a bike. I live about 5 miles in the woods, 20 miles away from the nearest mall, 10 miles from the nearest Walmart....get my picture? You NEED a car where I live.

And that quote was for liability. :

Get an apartment somewhere closer to town? Heh heh, dodging the question but face it, unless you lie about your age there is no way you'll be getting cheap insurance premiums.

Hell, if you graduated HS with a 4.0 they'd probably give you only a 1% discount. Assholes.

If you are on your own you are going to be paying close to that rate anywhere you go. You will have to find a local, non advertised insurance place to find something lower. Find the dirtiest shithole of an insurance store in your town and check there.

Also, I think you have no job if I remember correctly. If you are the person I am thinking of, you are screwed. Insurance companies will run a credit report, and unemployed = better bring the lube.

I pay $600/year for my '87 Maxima with 200,000 miles on it. When I was going to buy an '02 Taurus, they were going to charge me $200/month.

Try to get on with your parents insurance, that is really the best advice.

There is an unhealthy advantage to riding bikes. Too much riding will wear your knees out. Just ask Sil. Who rides 9 miles everyday to work on one.
