I think that Donoph is a really cool NPC, so I decided to make a new HUmar in his wake. I opened up the character manager and saw that Donoph with three spaces behind it made a SKYLY, good for a hunter. SO I made this char, and when I went online, a HUmar and a HUnewearl started calling me a (insert disparaging name for homosexual individual here), and cussing me out and saying my name sucked and it was un origonal. I personally have never seen anyone else called Donoph, and I asked those 2 other guys how many they had seen and they never responded.
So, is my name really kinda cheap, is it cliched, is it that sad, I don't think so.

If you like Donoph you should tell them why you choose it, if they still cuss at you you should just leave!

I told them that I thought he was a cool NPC, and they just said he was just a non-heterosexual old man. That is when I did leave.

They obviously have no appreciation for the offline game or the characters that flesh out the storyline. Even tho a little weak, it can still be respected. More than likely they can’t even make their own weapons from enemy body parts. Just write them off as NOOBS like every1 else in PSO writes each other off. I have no time for lobby morons, hafta lev up ya know. Well, unless I’m tired and crabby. Then I’d go off on said foos! ha

*cough* storyline?

PSO has a storyline?

I can only think of two things that could possibly qualify for a storyline in PSO, the Doc Montague/Elenor quests, and the Kireek quests...

and those are very minor (well...the Montague quests get rather important when you enter the ruins)...

hmmm...everything else...is just a toy sidequest...

back on topic:

anyway, Donoph is pretty cool...although he's old, and his name reminds me of a pokemon...(Donphan)

meh...whatever floats your boat, and just ignore what everybody says...

Over the weekend I beat all the offline quests, played through Episode 1 and read every single note from Rico, then played through Episode 2, reading all the messages from Flowen. With all that information, I think it's safe to say that PSO has something of a story. Not much of a story, but it does have one - with enemies, and friends, and characters you grow to like, as well as ones you grow to despise. The story is there.

Ignore what everyone said.
Donoph is cool. He antis you!

I think one of the thing about PSO's minimal and subtle storyline is that..... everyone can make up their own story. Is probably the idea. No? You're not the only hero, so everyone is hero, and have their own story alongside the main story.

Amen to that. There's plenty to find in the storyline if you look hard enough though. ie. when donoph dies he mentions 'Heath'

Mr. Flowen, no?

Wowza. And then there's the fact you I seem to learn something new every couple of days. Donoph's reference to Flowen for instance.
