THQ raises finally the veil on Sonic Advance 3 via this ten images. For this new episode of the adventures of Sonic and its band of buddies on Game Servant boy Advance, Sonic TEAM probably wanted to approach the gameplay its elder on consoles: Sonic Heroes. Our heroes seem to be able to help itself mutually by using each one their capacities to face the obstacles. Sonic Advance 3 will leave on portable Nintendo in the current the second quarter this year.

---

Storyline: Dr. Eggman has used Chaos Control to break the world into 7 parts, and plans to rain confusion by turning each into a Dr. Eggman Empire. Sonic and Tails, having been separated from their friends, are teaming up to return the world to its original state. To do this, they must find all 7 Chaos Emeralds and use Chaos Control to undo Dr. Eggman's mischief. But Dr Eggman isn't resting on his laurels. He's used his engineering genius to perfect the ultimate fighting robot, and will do all in his power to stand in Sonic's way.

Gameplay:
Pick any one of the 5 playable sonic characters. Then choose from the remaining 4 to play as your partner to help aid in your quest to bring down the evil Dr. Eggman

Gain new abilities based on your partner, master them all for a variety of exciting adventures

Link up GBA systems to play with up to 4 players in awesome 2 on 2 team battles

Too bad you can't do that in Sonic Heroes... Anyways, sounds cool!

Any idea concerning the release of SOnic Adventure 3? I've seen a few sites, but they're all in french, and I only know from reading it that they have a new camera system...

And what kind of abilities are we talkin', here? Like Light Dash, or stuff like that? Seeing as how the buttons are very limited on a GBA, there'd have to be a button for everything that was activated during certain times.... very difficult to pull off the manuever you want at times like that, yeah?

When you team-up with certain characters, you unlock certain teamplay abilities. Like Tails helping Sonic to fly, etc.

Not really. Sonic Advance 2 was released on the same machine and you can do all kinds of combos, after grinding, on the ground, on the air, etc.

My guess is that, to change characters they'll finally use the "Select" button. Then the rest works with or without button combinations, such as D-pad + A, or something.

EDIT: And on Sonic Battle, they managed to an endless list of moves using the simple Game Boy Advance controls.

Woo, another Sonic Advance! Im just hoping they dont put in those daft long drops that you couldnt see coming in Sonic Advance 2. Would also like to see a return of normal Boss Fights, instead of those running ones, they just got tedious and annoying.

The graphics look very nice now though, seem alot shinier then Advance 1 and 2's.

I must say, I always loved playing Sonic 3 & Knuckles with Sonic and Tails. Actually, I had lots of fun just playing as Tails while my friend was Sonic. Teamwork!

Uhm, if you mean the french site, they're talking about the new Sonic presented at last E3, for the three consoles, namely Heroes.

Takashi said he doesn't know if he would return the Adventure series, or make a sequel to the speed-based Heroes game instead.

This sounds great. I wonder how fast the game will be? The last Sonic Advance was pretty fast. Anyways, the graphics are nicer, more cleaner than before. I just wish they add more characters.

(Copy & paste the link, please)

Another new feature (regrettably not shown in this batch of early screenshots) is the Zone Map, a heavily-enhanced version of the 2D maps you selected stages with in the first two Sonic Advances. In SA3, the Zone Map works like an actual, full-sized stage, where you and your partner run around and search for entrances to other stages -- a setup that hasn't been seen in 2D-land for a while. Think of it as a new zone, separate from all the others, and you have the basic idea.

Yay. :>
