Is there a way I can get avi files viewable in a DVD player?

They are all over the intarweb. ^__^ However, if you can afford it, get Nero Burning Rom. They have VCD and SVCD technology with their CD burning suite.

Use a program like Roxio or Nero to burn the avi into the dvd format on an actual dvd. I do that with quite a few movies I download online.
