Sega has announced a new Phantasy Star game, titled Phantasy Star Universe.

Only a few details have been revealed, but what is known so far is:

-Phantasy Star Universe is a new online Phantasy Star game, and it is, interestingly enough, also being billed as a true Phantasy Star sequel.

-It is confirmed to be an action RPG.

-Release date is TBA 2005 for an unspecified platform(s).

I would love to say more, but no more details have been released.

EDIT: I removed the part about it being a confirmed multiconsole release. I've been informed that that detail is still speculation at this point. It was presented to me as fact. Sorry about that!
