Hi, I'm totally stupid when it comes to any kind of networking I looked at the guides but I'm unsure of what to actually enter. I'm in the UK with Blueyonder which works with PSO.

All i do is link my GC BBA directly to the modem, so I replace the PC cable then swap it back after (well thats the plan if it would work)

If I leave it up to DCHP, I am getting this error:

"No. 15 Failed to retrieve the IP address from DHCP"

If I enter in all My Ip, subnet etc... I get further to the point where you are almost at the ship select but i get:

"No. 102 Could not connect to the server please check the provider settings are correct."

DNS Server bit error.

I have no idea what parts I'm meant to fill in. On my comp. the address type is assigned by DHCP. Any ideas?

... Will keep trying.

Thanks, Dan.

Blueyonder = Telewest
Telewest = Cable TV, phone, and internet down a cable buried in your street

Heres the solution to your problem

Unplug the PC from the modem
Switch off the modem, and count to 10 ( this will allow any charge in the device to dissapate)
plug in your gamecube to the modem
Switch modem back on, wait for it to initialise,
go to the network set up option in PSO and set everything to automatic.
connect to PSO

Thanks again, If i leave it on auto I get the error message NO 15 again. I've tried varied options but they all seem to lead to one of the two error messages above. I've since done alot more reading literally a few hours worth, there's so much stuff. I'm convinced I have to register the MAC Address of my BBA with my ISP for it allow me to play. Just done so but it takes up to 24 hours to process so I hope this will solve it.

Thanks.

Edit: I am online now. The MAC address needed to be registered with my ISP, a whole afternoon wasted
