I ask this question because I personally have 4 characters that all share 1 mag. Alot of people say they love raising those things, but I hate raising those things.

I'd rather raise multiple mags. It kinda of reflects the characters personality with their own mags.

PJ - Soniti, it just works. I can't imagine him with any other mag.
Sarah - Rati, her, "Boyfriend," (You know, RP related stuffs) uses a Rati of the same color. Couple thing.
SUPAH CHAO - Devil's Wings are a part of him, again, another RP aspect.

Actually, I probably shouldn't go through all my characters, sincemost of them are RP stuffs, and not real game discussion @_@

mag raising can be time consuming, but switching one mag between multiple characters is kind of a pain. also, if something bad ever happens to the mag (fsod, corruption, etc.) you'd be up a creek without a paddle. of course, fsod is preventable and i've never heard of character corruption happening on xbox (though i'm sure it's possible).

my recommendation is to pick a character in late Hard mode, Very Hard or Ult, get a baby mag (or more, but i wouldn't try to raise more than three mags at a time, i'll explain later), and begin raising your mag while you play. mags want to eat about every three minutes and twenty seconds, so just take a quick break from combat and feed your mag. the most important part of the formula...pick up and sell all blue box armors and shields you find (that you don't need, of course) while you play. if you pick up items to sell you should always have enough meseta to feed your mag and you'll build up a surplus, so the mag should never be a drain on your funds.

i say to only feed one mag at a time... if you want you can reasonably feed three mags at a time on one character. it will consume meseta at a higher rate, and you'll have to be careful not to feed one mag the wrong item. three mags is doable and you'd get all of them done in approximately the same stretch of time (depending on the mag types) so you wouldn't be making three mags in a row. personally, i've fed as many as nine mags at a time, but you absolutely cannot play while doing so. the lower the number of mags, the easier it is to play while you feed them, and the less boring the process gets.

didn't mean to write so much. hope that all makes sense.

all of my characters have different mags, cause there different classes i cant put a power mag on a force when my force is not melee he is a casting machine. and i cant put a mind mag on my hucaseal cause it wont do anything to her.

hmm I wonder if it would be possible to Recobox while feeding 9 mags so you at least get SOME experience... nah probably not XD

But I actually ENJOY raising mags! The charts here at PSOW make it easy so you don't have to worry about messing up or getting unwanted results. I just put the finishing touches on my cutie Ribhava last night... Now I'm thinking of making another one... or maybe the weird one that looks like a mask... Ravanna I think? That is one cool-looking mag, and I rarely see people with it! I'm going to start a Ravanna Revolution~~~!
Check out how cool they are, and they're the only mag (that I can remember lol) that hangs out more in FRONT of your character instead of behind it! neato~~ http://www.pso-world.com/magguide/ravana.gif

But seriously, I think mag raising is an important part of the game - its nearly as crucial (if not as crucial) as raising your own character's stats... so if you like leveling, you should like raising mags too because they can be individualized to your characters' goals. Unless... you just like killing things and using the high-powered mag allows you to slice through areas without trouble, pushing 3-button combos one after the other while mindlessly racking up exp...

But sooner or later one-hit-k.o.ing everything actually DOES get a little boring, at least for me! (it doesn't happen for me much, since I'm a FOnewearl, but every now and then I'll blast through VH forest, mowing down boomas with 1025-damage foie-balls! woo-hoo!) Added elements to the gameplay like mag raising (and coming up with funny symbol chats) help keep it fun and addictive for many more hours.

Since they capped the amounts of mats you can use in EP. 1&2, the only way to max a character's stats is with careful mag and mat development. They're not just for fashion, as they mostly were back in the V.1&2 days.

Every character has to have a couple milestones in thier life. Getting into Ultimate offline, finding your ID card, etc. Having your MAG hit 200 is one of those.

I hate mags, on dreamcast Fyrin Humar and Amy FOmarl, both characters could have the same stats without having a dumb stupid mag equipped.

I love raising mags, I usually raise two for each character. The first usually has the typical pow/dex mags because most of my characters are not tech casters. The second mag usually has a decent ammount of mind on it, taken from power. This is so that my characters can be used more effectively at later levels.
