However a side effect of this seems to be that no one in europe can log on anymore. I'll try to find out what's going on, but don't expect anything on this except a small reader in PSM as I already did my anchor intros on it.

It's not true that all of europe is banned, as i am from germany and i am still able to log into bb as i am playing mostly every day! ^_^

It seems germany isnt affected.
Maybe parts of Europe that are closer to Broomop.

[edit]It should be noted that only Broomop's reign of terror is affected for PSOBB

He can very well still log into PSO GC or PSOX and continue there.

Sega should open a hotline or something so other players can get their ip addresses allowed to continue playing the game. That'd probably be their smartest move.

well they could of band were the broomop lives so its probaly just britian not the rest of europe there.probally going to cahnge there minds and let all the "legit" players still play . exccept broommop

Possibly, but I think they'd be smart enough to catch him again if he slipped through. It's either do something simmilar to that, or lose a whole bunch of customers. Even now, they can't charge all those banned ip's for HL's, because they can't play. I could see some lawsuits against sega comming up if they still charged.
