depends on who you ask and how its done. If you personally press the buttons on the controller to steal exp, then I would say its not cheating. If on the other hand you use a programmable controller and set it up to automatically activate the buttons for you while you go off and do something else, then I would say its not a legitimate way to level.

It's a cheat in the theoetical sense, but since it's on the site, it's not that bad.
