So since we can't just hack into the game data to get the tech drops like on GC, I figure the only way to get a somewhat accurate chart is to just gather as many people's data as possible.

If you wish to provide any info, we ask that you clearly provide it as follows:

Difficulty
Ep IV area (eastern route, Sub-desert2, etc.)
Tech name
Tech level

Any input at all would be greatly appreciated.

I'm aware this won't give us an actual % rate of the tech disk dropping, but it will at least show where the disks drop.

Was doing some hunts for Heavenly/Arms, and kept track of the techs I saw. I'm starting to get a bit tired, so I quit after clearing Crater (Eastern Route), so I only have data for it. Depending on how much MA2 I get in tomorrow, I may do a few more runs and find more data. Anyways, here is what I found. It's not much, but it's a start.

When looking at most other hard areas in Ultimate, I assume in Ult Desert all techs can be found up to at least L28, L29 in SD2. Since L27~29 techs aren't all that hard to obtain (except Megid and Grants), I'm only really interested in knowing what areas of ep4 have what L30 disks. But.. that's going to be quite hard, assuming any tech disk that could be L30 in that specific area (it's assumed even when you do get a disk like that, the chance for it to be L30 still isn't as big as for it to be, say, L29) is still a 1/33K drop excluding DAR. T_T

Yeah, I hear ya Tycho.
I also figured the drops would be similar to that of epI and II, but without any official data..it can only be assumed. That's why I'm hoping to gather as much as possible.
(Unless some people know something I don't.)

I know people probably don't do epIV when looking for techs when they already have ep I&II (ruins/seabeds), but for the sake of having something listed in epIV, I'll keep at it.

I know this wont help all that much but they were found in episode 4. Zalure 30 and Deband 30 i found in Desert 1 or 2. I found them the day before you started this so I really didnt think to remember where I got them.

JODDY, I just put your's in both SD1 and 2 with an * for now. If someone else can confirm getting one of them in either area, I'll remove the *.
Shouldn't be too hard to do, since Lv30 support techs aren't too terribly hard to find.

Crater Area means... Crater Center? The actual Crater.
Found Megid 19 and Gibarta 22 in there today.
Also found Rafoie 15 in Crater South Route.

Tonight I finished the Hard Mode government quests for Episode IV. I was on 9-5 when I started, and I took note of every tech disc that dropped along the way. It seems that the Hard Mode tech findings in your list are still pretty bare - hope this will fill things up a bit.
