LIEK OMFG RARES R HARDUR TO FINED!!!!!!!111111

Okay, seriously, I love this new system. I might have said in the past that I would like for Sonic Team make rare items a little easier to find, which pissed some people off. However, Sonic Team have now made items much, much harder to find. If you want a Red Handgun, you've got to kill a Pal Rappy for it. Sounds like a bitch eh?

This is why I like it: items(mainly weapons) are now evenly balanced.

Percentages on weapons don't mean much if they're not over 50, when you find a grinder, it's like OMFG YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!@@@@@@(to me anyways). ATP and ATA mean everything. Flowen's Sword, DB Saber, Visk, these so called "rare" items were common findings on the Dreamcast. Sometimes so common they got annoying to find. These weapons are now effective in Ultimate mode. I just kicked Vol Opt's ass in ultimate mode with a Gae Bolg and a Demon's Vulcan with 45% on hit. Sounds like it's too easy huh? It was, kinda, but I'm really glad that the weapons I found in Very Hard mode are now actually usable in Ultimate.

mmkay, I'm kinda tired now. Done.

More stingy!

Well, rare enemies are supposedly more common.

The rare items are a bit dull to simply be honest. Sega packed the game with ss class weapons we haven't even seen. The question is this, why create so many awsome weapons that you can not access unless you cheat? It's absolutley rediculous. *Covers head from frontal assult...

But the question is why limit one to a db saber when you can have a lavis cannon? I mean, it's not easy programmings or creating weapons. Sega worked hard at this, only leaving players with no other option but to cheat in order to have access to them. I've been playing video games since atari, I know what makes for a great game. Phantasy Star (the original) that came out for the master system years back, was perhaps the best rpg I've ever played and I've played a lot! A lot of you may not have ever heard of or had the pleasure of playing Phantasy Star (the original). The laconium weapons were hard, very hard to find, but possible and thus made playing the game worth while. Many weapons that should be obtained by beating some great mission or defeating a super hard boss, can only be obtained through hacks. Most of the v1 rares have NEVER been found legit (at least to my knowledge). Sega left a doorway to hackers by being stingy little hobbits. By making every single weapon obtainable by hard work and not blind luck, will drive the hackers out of business!

Making all the rares have a decent chance of dropping though would make more players become bored and leave though. Most people kept playing the original version for so long just to find that elusive section ID-specific rare but what would happen if there was an exact way to find all the elite weapons? People would do that but would become bored simply because there wouldn't be as much of a point to continously running through each stage. Even leveling would become tedious without the thrill of possibly finding a rare from some random enemy.

Online RPGs are meant to be played for months, possibly even years. Console RPGs are rarely played for even a month continously because once you beat it, get all characters to max level, do all sidequests, etc., what's the point of continuing?

THAT IS TOTALY UNTRUE! Even with the original Phantasy Star, I played and beat it years after I first bought it simply because of the design of the game. Do you know how many members of clans hated PSO. HATED IT, because they said they just got bored. I defended the PSO name till the end, but I myself must be realistic. Yes, you need rare weapons that are super rare to find, but that should not limit the amount of ss rares to find. Or better yet, make the more basic weapons ss rares and make new and better rares to be harder to find. Listen to the logic, THESE WEAPONS COULD NOT BE FOUND UNLESS HACKED! You can play for years and be so tired of a game that by the time you find that one rare, it wouldn't matter. The gaming experience should be progressive but fun. That's what I hated about early games like Cloud Master, I couldn't ever get past level 3...

Very True Blazing... There are so many great items in PSO but u can't get any of em :/ Hell, SEGA left some of them banned the whole time! What's the point of creating a weapon only to ban it from day one?!

I don't know what Sega was thinking. This is a great game that just killed the public by holdng back on the weapons. Many new players saw the potential of PSO, but got bored from the lack of weapons. Once they discovered that there were more weapons, just not possible to find ligitly, they resorted to hacking, in so much, they made it away of life... So many POWERFUL weapons that they just keep locked away in a box. Sega was asking for it when they did that. They should have left it without any rare weapons to find, and then everybody would have grown tired of the game and it wouldn't have been worth the hack. In reality, there are great weapons. Great weapons that are almost like a tease...
