Well I posted this here since its not constructive, and Its more or less a rant.

I just got through reading this post.

This info is depressing to me, one of the things I really looked forward to in PSU was to recreate my old HUnewearl, I figured it would be fun to play with revamped graphics and an enhanced combat system.
So, I bought PSU 2 days ago, and just got online yesterday. I had read the posts saying newman were once again melee fragile, but I was hopeing that it wouldnt be a significant amount. Plus I saw that newmans were supposed to have rather high ATA, so I figured that my recreated character would not excell, but would at least wind up being decently powerful, with above average ATA.
However, if what Im reading in this posted chart is true (which im sure it is, the poster seems to be aware of what he/she is talking about, then this character, upon reaching a higher level, would be effectively worthless. Possessing abyssmal ATP, HP, AND defense. In fact, her HP would be above only human rangers, and forces of any race, ATP lower than than any hunter (which I expected, although admitadly not to such a degree) but also lower than any beast ranger, and a male cast ranger.
Obviously I didnt expect this to go extremely well but I did NOT expect the character I wished to create to be a completely worthless gimp.
Well.... I thought that maybe I could replace newman with beast, it may be close enough, and the stats would be undeniably better, and they are, in most catagories, as the graph shows.
HOWEVER, this points out my problem here, a ATA roughly equel to 76% of a base stat number. (So thats saying that if a non-gender specified, non race specified hunter had 100 ATA, this female beast would have 76.
I was hoping that race/gender would not destroy certain options this much, as it is, there are a few very very powerful options, and a lot that dont really offer anything special, and a few that outright blow, such as my newman hunter. Ill still play the game, I do enjoy it, but this is a tad depressing to me.
As it is the only options I have is to have either a miserably weak hunter, or one with utterly abysmal acuracy. Or just drop my plan entirely and go roll a male cast.
........ ok... im done, I just really needed to get this out of my system, so I figured FKL would be the place.
