That's all I have to say.

Mech Assault OR Unreal Championship ALONE are good enough reason to buy an xbox and xbox live.

Beats down ANY PS2 online gaming out at the moment.

Unreal Tournament 2003 was nothing special, just another Quake-style FPS (with adrenaline and too much of an emphasis on graphics). Is Unreal Championship much different?

nope. unreal championship is just a watered down version of ut2003.

You can sure tell when someone doesn't want to like something ... "too much emphasis on graphics" ... LOL!

I could care less if UT2003 was just about graphics, but it's a lot more then that. Try something like; best level design, best weapon selection, incredibly balanced game play and the best looking game, period. It makes for a game that is far above the rest of the pack.

If you don't like the kind of FPS it is and prefer something along the lines of counterstrike or ghost recon then you should qualify your statement.

About Unreal championship ... I haven't had a chance to check it out, but I'm very curious as to how it turned out on the Xbox.

Um yeah Im gonna get this game plus i heard in the future there will be Downloadable addons which means more charaters and maps probally !!!

I could care less about graphics, it's the gameplay that counts. And apparently, Epic decided to make up for the mediocrity of the gameplay with a bunch of graphic improvements over the competition.

Sure, the game's got graphics, but beyond that, it's nothing to write home about. There's much better level design, weapon selection, and more balance in gameplay in both Tribes 2 and Jedi Knight 2, as well as a bunch of other games.

Alright, let's put it this way: I don't like the kind of FPS that UT2003 is, but I like the kind of FPS Quake 3, Tribes 2, Jedi Knight 2, Operation Flashpoint, etc. are.

Why? Because they're fun, and gameplay is the primary aspect of the games. If you think UT2003 is fun, that's your opinion, I don't give a damn, I'll play what I like. You can go play with your cronies and do whatever the hell you want, I have better things to waste my time on.

unreal tournament 2003 graphics arent amazing.
even when i put all my settings to max the textures are still kind of blurry.
and this game doesnt even use bump mapping... how is this game so next gen?

Kent, liking a different game is fine. Some people don't like the "feel" of one shooter over another. But bashing UT2003 by suggesting that gameplay isn't it's primary aspect? You are truly deserved of the title, "PSOW's only Genius".

Thanks for your thought provoking, objective, point of view. I must delete UT2003 immediately and reinstall Tribes 2 and Quake 3 now that you have shown me the light.

Can we get DETAILS? Sure, I mean I like generalized comments as much as the next guy, but when two people are trying to make and argument it helps to use details.

As for me I kinda have to agree on the side of pro UT 2003, I mean it has better graphics than any other FPS (admit Halo and a few others of course, but I'm talking true fps), more gameplay modes than quake etc, and of course the balance of weapons and level design that has ranked UT #1 in the whole quake/UT/whatever contest. Whats bland Kent? I mean since we are on the topic of generalized comments UT is the same fucking thing as quake... Ohwell, damn my blasphamous soul to damnation. Yeah, Tribes pwns too.
