Anyone know if, on the online mode, you can hunt with your trainer and your PM at the same time, or can you only have one?

You can call up to a maximum of two NPCs. So, yes, you can bring Lou and your PM along. Later on there will be opportunities to pick up more NPC partner cards, but as I said, you can only invite a maximum of two--so no "soloing" in a party of six, haha.
