I logged in around 6am this morning due to wanting to finish the last 10 levels of my PM before it got too far into the week and had to go buy some mines from the store, so without even changing the default loaded server I went to the 2nd floor and bumped into some interesting chat:

Take it as you will, but even if its someone being ego it makes me angry a little bit.

On a happy note my pm is now level 80, woo!

They're on by default, as far as I know.

It's always he said she said unless someones got evidence to put on the table. Then again not surprised simple because sega fixed the duping bug but they didn't fix the meseta that was already in the economy and so far i haven't seen it effect it much if any at all i see no real reason to be alarmed.

*looks at cheater section* I stand corrected my bad x.x

SEGA aware of that? They do seem rather daft at times. Hopefully its reported again and being looked at again.

Then they'll patch it again.

I can't believe that anyone in the PSO/U community actually has the skills to "hack" the servers - or that anyone who does have the talent gives a shit when there are much more appealing targets out there such as WoW. I haven't seen any evidence yet which point to these cheats being anything other than simple exploits which can be dealt with. There may be 20 - 2,000 ways in order to exploit the game to allow duping. So long as Sega keeps patching them without any major screwups (like the double save, which isn't even an issue since they keep backups of charcter information) then eventually that number will get whittled down.

Every game has cheats and exploits... FFXI, WoW, RO, ST:G, EQ.... you can't get around it. So long as Sega keeps it so obtuse to pull off that only a small group can manage it - and patches problems as they arise - then there isn't a big problem.

PSO was as easy to cheat as practically copy-pasting codes from a website and inserting a memory card. You can't do that anymore, and the vast majority of the public won't even bother with it.
