psosaladwood writes, "Check them out right here. Only three new pics in total, but at least it's something new. IGN also mentions "Three screens to get you pumped for April." Lets hope it's true. Our very own Xbox screenshots can be found here."

Anonymous writes, "A New GameCube to PC Keyboard Adapter has been released by Allan and Adam of indiglo.net. The adapter will allow anyone to use a standard or wireless PC keyboard with your GameCube to play PSO. We have 28 of them currently on ebay for 45.99. Our adapter differs from that of the Happy Fun Box in that our box will work with 99.9% of the keyboards out there, and does not have a sticky key problem. Our design comes pre-assembled, so no soldering is required.

These boxes are not assembled Happy Fun Boxes. This adapter was designed from scratch, including the code. Although we do give credit to Eric and Adam, creators of the Happy Fun Box, for exchanging info. Thanks Adam and Eric!

Interesting, now we have even more keyboarding solutions aside from the ASCII and Datel Keyboard.

On a completely unrelated note, Sonic Team took down the White Day Quest and lobby decorations on 03/17/03 at 4pm JP time. Wonder when the next event is, Easter maybe?

psosaladwood writes, "I emailed Sega a few days ago, asking when Xbox PSO would be coming out since Ebgames and Gamestop are both now showing a release date of April 22nd.

    Sega had this to say:

"Thank you for e-mailing Sega Technical Support. I'm sorry, but it is in now in our understanding that Microsoft is handling all aspects of PSO for Xbox, including publishing. Thus, I do not have any release dates available. Please refer back to them for help with any questions or concerns.

    Sincerely,

    -Jason
    Sega of America Technical Support"

Okay so then we contacted Chris at XBox Chat Support to verify this information and this was what we got from Microsoft:

"I'm afraid that contradicts the information we have on our site. According to our information, Sega is the game's publisher as it always has been for PSO when released on any console."

Confused? I know I am! We'll try contacting them again in a few days to see if there's any change.

psosaladwood writes, "Sega has made an official statement in regards to the buyout rumor circulating in many major news sources. According to www.gamesradar.com:

"[Sega] has officially denied that such as deal exists.

Sega president Hideki Sato has flatly denied that EA have approached Sega - although he has yet to respond to the other long-running rumour that Microsoft are interesting in snapping up the struggling developers."

psosaladwood writes, "Sega's stock jumps, but not because of PSO.

Apparently the Asian Wall Street Journal reported that Microsoft and EA are interested in buying out part of, or all of Sega. However, Sega said it had recieved no offers.

    "Fri February 28, 2003 04:36 AM ET
TOKYO (Reuters) - Shares in Japanese video game maker Sega Corp. 7964.T soared on Friday after a media report that Microsoft Corp. and top U.S. game publisher Electronic Arts Inc. were considering billion-dollar takeover bids for the company.

The Asian Wall Street Journal said the U.S. companies wanted to buy all or part of Sega, which is already involved in merger discussions with fellow Japanese game maker Sammy Corp.

The report sparked a buying spree for shares in Sega, which had a market capitalization of 129.4 billion yen as of Friday.

The Journal, quoting people familiar with the situation, said Microsoft MSFT.O and EA ERTS.O were separately exploring the possibility of buying all or part of Sega, famous for its "Sonic the Hedgehog" character, but had yet to hold formal talks.

The sources were quoted as saying no deal was imminent.

The stock rose 15.63 percent, their daily limit of 100 yen, to close at 740 yen in a generally weaker market.

The news emerged two weeks after Sega, Japan's largest game arcade operator, said it would merge with Sammy Corp 6426.T , the country's largest maker of pinball-style 'pachinko' game machines, and would abandon plans to restructure on its own. "

AceLeonhart writes, "In an article over at CVG, who have been following PAL PSO news rather well, it can be confirmed that there will be no delay in the release of the Modem or BBA. Both will be out march 7. Quoted from CVG:

"Shelly Friend, head of European PR for Nintendo, told us: "There is absolutely no truth in [the delay]. Both the broadband and modem adapter for GameCube will launch on March 7 simultaneously with Phantasy Star Online.""

"The confusion was largely cleared earlier today in a statement by Koch, with the company accepting full responsibility for the mix-up. Referring to the March 28 date Koch was giving out to official enquiries, the statement read: "The date... was incorrect. This date was a date used by us to set up the product code on our system. The date originally supplied to us was March '03.""

    UPDATE:
Cube-Europe confirms PAL PSO to go on sale on March 7 also.

"Infogrames issued a press release confirming Phantasy Star Online is still to be released on the 7th of March.

Phantasy Star Online Episode 1&2 will be the first online game available on NINTENDO GAMECUBE. To play online you will need to purchase a NINTENDO GAMECUBE Broadband adapter or Modem adapter priced at around 45-50 Euros and acquire a 'Hunters Licence', which can be purchased for 5.99 pounds or 8.95 euros for 30 days. The first 30 days are free!"

psosaladwood writes, "Sega Tech Support is still unaware of technique level drop bug nor the materials stat reset bug. They seem totally lost about this problem and probably won't do anything about it until more people call about it.

So if anyone here has experianced this type of problem after finishing C-mode C9, use the Sega Support online form or call Sega Tech support at (716) 650-6701. To get directly to a PSO operator, wait for the first message to complete, hit 2 then 4 then 0. It is a toll call but if you can afford it, please call them and make them aware of this very overlooked bug so they can do something about it!
