Edward, a Phantasy Star Universe GM, announced today that the long-awaited Maximum Attack G+ event is scheduled to start on January 29th. Full information and a website for the event will be available around the release date. It was also announced that no server maintenance will be performed this week. The official English webpage was updated today with details for the content update scheduled for January 8th. Here is a breakdown of the new content:

• The Dark God S2 - Players will be able to fight against the second form of Dark Falz in this mission. According to the webpage, Xbox 360 players will receive the final game achievement for completing this mission.
• Temple of Traps - This is a new Co-Op mission that will be available through the Neudaiz Guardian Branch.
• Winter Lobbies - The Winter Lobby will be available on Parum and the Guardian Colony for an unspecified period of time. Players will be able to buy the Snowman room decoration while the lobby is available.

Update: The Japanese 360 homepage has been updated as well. The winter lobbies as well as the Snowman room decoration will be available through January 28th.

The GGCII (more information here) will be starting in January. Teams that have already registered in the designated platform threads on the official forums can find information about how to schedule their runs in this thread. Competitors can find information on available time slots as well as who to contact for claiming one.

The full set of thirty-two teams has just about come together on the Xbox 360 servers. The PC/PS2 side is still below the limit. The set of brackets will most likely have to be scaled back appropriately, however registration will still be possible for the next week. Any active players on the PC or PS2 platforms are highly encouraged to participate. It's not too late to sign up!

Players interested in the next major time attack tournament can find details in a new section of the official PSU homepage. Described on the page are the list of rules as well as the in-game prizes which will be given away. While an official start date has not been set, it is planned to begin in January and continue through February.

Update: A new page has been posted on the official site detailing some additions to the prizes for the event. Players shooting for first and second place are now looking at the possibility of obtaining real-life PSU swag. Also, please note a small change to the rules.

The official English webpage was updated today with details for the content updates for December 11th. Here is a breakdown of what we can expect:

• Episode 3 Chapter 8: A Brighter Day - This is the final story mission for Episode 3. Bring your best gear and prepare for a showdown on Rykros!
• Egg Thieves S2 - A new S2 variant has been added to the popular Egg Thieves Team Mission. Players maybe awarded the Apocalypse, De Ragan Slayer, or Deathrain as prizes if they earn S-Rank on the S2 variant.
• Christmas Lobby - Christmas has returned to the Gurhal System. For a limited time, you'll be able to purchase the Christmas room theme and other decorations at the Variety Shop. In addition, the Rappy Noel will appear. You can spend the holidays hunting Dagger of Serafi boards and Christmas Tree decorations.
• Casino Item Rotation - Some existing room decorations will be rotated out and replaced by new items at the Voloyal Casino.

Update: The Japanese 360 homepage has been updated with more details for this week. The Christmas lobbies will be up until December 24, and the Variety Shop items will be available until January 7. In addition, there is a change to the maintenance period. It will begin two and a half hours prior to the usual and is estimated to end two hours later than the usual.

The first details of the Great Gurhalian Cup II were announced yesterday by Edward. For those that are unfamiliar with the event, the Great Gurhalian Cup is a team-based time-attack tournament that is run by the Sega GMs. Each set of servers have their own tournament brackets. For this year's version, several new rules were announced. These rules include a four player limit on team sizes and provisions for dealing with alternates. Be sure to check out the announcement for the full rules set. The first round of the Great Gurhalian Tournament is expected to start in January at Rainbow Beast S3.

The official English and Japanese 360 PSU homepages have been updated with the releases for this week. There will be a second GUARDIANS Boost Road on Neudaiz which will run from November 20 until December 10. The following missions have been upgraded to S3 for AOTI players and will be on the path of this GBR:

• Forest Infiltration (Agata Islands: Egam)
• Rainbow Beast (Shikon Tanze route)
• The Eastern Peril (Agata Islands: Egam)
• Moonlight Beast (Kego Clearing)

Also being added this week is a permanent version of The Magashi Plan (previously featured in Shred the Darkness). This version features an all-new section as well as the ability to once again obtain Megispheres. Instead of costing Megispheres to run, they will instead be dropping in the mission. Finally, there are a few other limited-run tidbits (also running from November 20 to December 10):

• Autumn seasonal lobby (Clyez and Ohtoku Cities)
• Native Creature Festival (Dagora City)
• Autumn Leaves room decoration (Variety Shop)
• Casino Voloyal rotation from the Modern set to the Berry/Sweet set

As a reminder, the Halloween lobbies as well as the Rappy Latans will be going back into hiding until next year after this Thursday. Those still hunting seasonal items should focus on getting what they need before it ends! Check out the forums for discussion of this update.

The newest Mission Spotlight has already begun. The featured mission is Bladed Legacy (accessed from Il Cabo Base on Moatoob). Players running on Leo (Guide) or Caelum servers have a chance to win a variety of items. Prizes include Casino Voloyal coins, rare items, and more.

The official English PSU site was just updated with details on October 30's content update! Here's what to expect when the servers come back up from maintenance this Friday.

• GUARDIANS Colony GBR begins and will run through November 19. The missions included in this route are Dark Satellite, SEED Awakened, The Black Nest and The Dark God.
• S3 difficulties will be added to Dark Satellite and SEED Awakened.
• A brand new rare mission, Phantom Ruins, will become available at G-Colony mission counters for anyone who has won the right to a rare mission.
• Character level cap will be increased to LV170.
• Halloween will begin, bringing with it the return of Rappy Latans.
• The Halloween redecoration ticket will be available again for a limited time at the Variety Shop.
• There will be an item rotation at Casino Voloyal.

New information includes that the Halloween lobbies will be running for the same duration as the G. Colony GBR and that a new Photon Fortune table will be implemented, so that we will not be repeating the same charts from the year prior.
