When did you start PSO/PSU:Started off with getting DC version 1 after watching a preview on Extended Play on TechTV. Luckily for us we had some 4x memory cards that were seperated so that we could have 4 characters per card. I would frequent online play when my cousin could play, and a broadband adapter for the DC was considered for purchase, but it never really happened. I got version 2 a little later than I would have liked, and even then I only ended up playing enough to get my level 84 character to 107. By that time Falz was a smoking stain in the ground. I never did get an HL for version 2. It was a few months later when I sort of stopped playing, because to me there was nothing left to do in version 2. Then the news of a GC PSO reached my ears, and I waited patiently for the release day to arrive, where I and a few others bought both PSO EPI&II and DDRMAX. We opted for the free month of HL on a dailup, and FSOD ensued. Fortunately, I recently was able to reconnect and pay for an HL, on a cable modem to boot.
Favorite Class:Starting off on version 1 for the DC, I had read a bit of the manual and decided to go for the "jack-of-all-trades" HUmar. Having realized that traditional "JOAT" characters are best suited for learning all aspects of the game and generally are not the strongest in the later levels, I was pleasantly surprised at how the HUmar could use all techs to maximum level (15) as well as deal the goods damage-wise with mechguns of death. The tradition has lived on as the first character I made on EPI&II was a HUmar as well. What can I say? I go with what I know.
Favorite Gamestyle:Legit, first of all. I try not to be a jerk about it either. As for gameplay style: DC version 1-> Mainly offline, mostly online games consisting of playing in locked games with cousins. DC version 2-> Offline. Not much more to be said there. EPI&II-> 4 player offline was what I was waiting for! As far as modes, I often battle offline multiplayer, but now no one wants to fight me... *sigh*. Just recently started Challenge offline, I'm too "noobish" when it comes to online Challenge Mode.
Favorite Enemy:I usually try not to play favorites, since there are a LOT of things I can find good about various objects. For the sake of choice, however, I would opt for Hallo Rappy, since they have all the style in spades.
Favorite Weapon:All I needed in version 1 were the 50-60% (Dark %) M&A60 VISEs, since the damage calculations were in their favor. The 60% (Machine %) Spirit Gungnir was fun in VHard for an excellent display of 1600+ damage per hit per enemy. In Version 2 all my best weapons did 8 damage, so the highly percentaged legit Red Sword was a godsend. Took it all the way to Ruins with me. In EPI&II, I frequently use: Hunters-> Demolition Comet, Flowen's Sword 3084, Bravace, sometimes God Hand. Also recently created a very useful legit 50% Hit Rainbow Baton. Rangers-> Don't play them much, but I have my fair share of Red Scorpios and had a decently percentaged Frozen Shooter. Forces-> Sorcerer's Cane, Hildebear's Cane, Holy Ray, I'm also going to try for an S-Rank Twin for my possibly corrupted FOmar.
Favorite Mag/PM:For the HUmar, I ended up with an Apsaras on DC version 1. This was by far the best I could hope for, since it gave good invulnerability (as opposed to EPI&II's invulnerability which is MUCH shorter) and revived often. I still made an Apsaras on EPI&II, and made an Ila or two. The Sato I have would be my favorite, if it wasn't a strange sewage green color... I also like the way Hamburger Mag looks, as well as Devil Wings.
Best PSO/PSU Memory:Agito 1975, less than 10 Pinkal Pal Rappies. Untekked, 0/40/35/45/0, and Orotiagito made them all 0% :| . Also: DC, version 1. The very first time I fought Hard Dark Falz...yeah, the one with the Grants-casting form. Imagine: A HUmar with only a DB's Saber fighting final form Falz, where the Grants brings the HUmar down to 1 HP from full. Imagine a luck filled 30 minute+ long boss fight where IF Falz came in range AND was vulnerable that I happened not to miss with the DB's Saber, and where, as a HUmar, I started to resort to Scape Dolls in order to refill my TP. There it is. At least the Saber did around 400 damage with spirit...
Funniest PSO/PSU Memory:The instances mentioned after are only one of many Funny PSO Memories: With my Pinkal FOmar in Ultimate, I had gone back to VHard in order to obtain rares, namely Stink Frame from a Gigobooma, using "Soul of a Blacksmith". The first run, a Rappy drops its wing, right next to a Hildebear that drops its head. In the next run, at the top of the dome where 2 Hildebears drop at the end of forest, I cast Megid. First try kills a Hildebear, dropping its head. Thinking that to be a rather odd event, I Megid the second bear right next to its falling body. Again, first attempt is a success, and it too drops its head. OK, so I figured that to be a little freaky. Next time I mix it around, killing some bears with Grants instead. No heads. I Megid one near the top of the dome and BOOM! a head. Now, as I was killing Gigos for the Stink Frame, I normally opted for a GIbarta to the face. However, in some strange twist of my mind, I decide to Megid one of them. First shot kills a Gobooma that walks in the way. Second Megid also kills a Gobooma that walked in the way. Megid shots 3-8 doesn't kill the Gigo. Finally the 9th Megid kills, and...it drops a Stink Frame! Very odd...
Why did you join PSOW:I was searching the web for news of the GC EPI&II before it was released, and happened upon PSOW, where I checked around some of the guides. I inadvertantly stumbled upon the forums after the game was released, where I saw a thread in the Mag, Quest, Item and Section ID Discussion forum pertaining to various members posting the Hours they had on EPI&II and what level they were. Most people who posted had about level 25-50 at the time, since I think the thread was in the same weekend as when the game came out. So, wanting to reply to the aforementioned thread, I made an account, and here I am today.
Best PSOW Memory:Getting a Fanfic up and running (Algarant Series) was memorable, as well as filling in for Kodiax987 on his Hunter Wars. Both let me have fun as well as aid in strengthing the fabulous community that is known as PSO World. Other honorable mentions go to: Freaking out Bradicus by changing my avatar, and when my "Most Active in" forum became Fresh Kills Landfill. :|
Comments:I am one of those who are more open to their surroundings, and more accepting of how different people act differently. It would be quite the task to piss me off, especially through a computer. It's just not like me to get offended or anything like that. I am attending Digipen Institute of Technology, which is known by many as "Video Game University" (lucky me, attending a school that was founded specifically for making video games) I had three years of Japanese classes in High School, which may or may not come in handy, depending on whether I continue studying the language. Like I mentioned earlier, I'm pretty open to the various ways people live, as well as other things, such as dupers and the like. To me I say let them have their way and do what they want. My only stipulation to anything is that it not be something that brings about pain to another. There is little need or reason to intentionally hurt someone else. Anti-war? Not really, just wish it wouldn't have to be that way. I am also well into DDR and older RPGs such as the classic Shining Force series. Now if only they had a multiplayer Shining Force that actually IS a Shining Force, not this Shining Soul stuff ^_-. And remember, kids. SSJ4Sephiroth has been done before... be yourself, not otherself. Wannabes ^_-.
