Sega unaware of FSOD problem?
By Saladwood at 01/27/2003 - 6:04pm
Generalpsosaladwood writes, "I just called Sega of America tech support, twice. According to two different Sega of America tech support people, they are unaware of any FSOD problems, and aren't aware of any "double-saving process." They'll have to "look into it and call back."

If they do call back, I'll post what their response is.

If you would like to call Sega of America tech support, the number is (716)650-6701. It is also in the manual. Please be aware of long distance charges if you're not in their area. Maybe, if more people call and work together, it'll alert them on the urgency of the problem and get them to post an official comment. If you can't call and would like to voice your opinion, use the Sega Customer Service Online Form on the Sega website.

Check this thread for the ongoing discussion. One of our members, thewiredknight claims to have talked to a Sega tech support person that said that they are aware of the problem and are trying to fix the FSOD's without removing the double save method. However, we cannot vouch for the validity of this news since we did not make the call and we had conflicting results.

So let's hope that they do call back with some news.

What makes you think those kids over at SEGA tech support have any clue of what goes on with Sonic-team's PSO? Those guys just sit there and take phone calls, they know nothing about the status of PSO Servers. Don't waste your time with them

Exactly. Of course Sega Tech Support isn't going to know about something like this - they just know what's on the computer screen parked in front of them. The only real thing you can hope for, as stated in the original post, is to hope to draw attention to the problem if enough people inform them of the situation. : Even that's a far cry, though..

like the news post implies, be aware of the costs, and if you can't afford it, use the online form. you can't complain but yet never try to do anything. what's the harm in trying?

by Eden on Mon, 01/27/2003 - 11:44pm
Theres no harm...it's just a waste of time and effort speaking with SEGA of America tech reps, they have no idea what your talking about. And they are stupid as hell too, if you ever get banned from PSO you just call them up and ask to have your serial reset, I did it for my friend a few times in the DC Version.

*Note*

I do not condone cheating or breaking the rules in any way that is punishable of banning anymore.

yes they are unaware, so let's make them aware?

by Eden on Mon, 01/27/2003 - 11:50pm
Ok, but what are they going to do about it? Tech reps are not going to go call Sonic Team and explain this to them. It's just not going to happen. The only way to do it is to go straight to sonic team, which I think some people are doing.

This is a long chain of replies :p

I guess the slew of "I talked to Sega's tech support" or "My brother works for Sega and they giving us free time" saturday in chat was all bullfeathers. Jeez, people are stupid.

Read 2Xtreme's "DAMMIT!!!!!!!" thread. It's a corruption that does NOT have anything to do with FSOD. He disconnected somehow between saves... the result was fatal.

HOW DO YOU GET RID OF "FSOD"!
