Teaser Site Hints Possible New 360 Exclusive Action Game from Sega

pso>psu ...also 10!=the 10th anniversary surprise me thinks. Still hoping it's gonna be a sequel or "HD Remix" of sorts. Oh the thought of mags (Rati's), teleporters, section ID's, and SPECIAL WEAPONS!!!

I'll raise you 50 and call PSO: 10th Anniversary Edition. I think that by keeping it exclusive to one system would be a logical move by SEGA b/c multi-platform=multi-servers. I'd rather have every1 on "one ship"...

Agreed. PSO was the "original" online RPG from Sega, but it's style is way outdated now. I pray that, even if it is a Phantasy Star title, that it isn't a "remake" of PSO. I second Max's PSU/PSO mixture idea.
Not saying that I didn't/don't like PSO, but I had/am having much more fun on PSU than I ever had playing PSO.

Oh please let it be a new PSO game. A new Panzer Dragoon Saga would be nice as well. But I can't see that as a download only game.

Agreed. No matter how much you try to deny it, PSU will always be better than PSO. I do think some of the better PSO features should be transfered over (like atacks without a weapon equipded or the MAG)

I wish it was a new Phantasy Star theme based 3rd person action/adventure game similar to Shinobi/Bayonetta game engine with rpg elements but offline only. Or it could very well be a sequal to Shinobi..

I am sure that it will not be a new Phantasy star. Pure legistics! Like it or not, the 360 is old for a system. Development on the next gen. has been confirmed. If and when a new phantasy star comes out, I bet it will be on the next gen. counsles. as for what is coming out, maybe an expansion. Sort of like Krom's armory for borderlands. nothing great, but more missions i bet.

Personally, if it's Phantasy Star, I'd prefer it on PC + MAC. Why? I can't confirm this, but logic tells my that more people own PCs or MAC than own 360s. This means larger communit for the players, and more profits for SEGA. If they only use one console, PC/MAC seems most logical. That's just my two cents.

Eh, I still find PSO much more enjoyable than PSU.
I've tried online, I've tried off-line.
My love for PSO was just too huge to be beaten. Once PSU hit, I was expecting more, in the end, was extremely disappointed.
Some of PSU's ideas were nice, but PSO was overall better imo.
HOWEVER, I feel PSZ hit it. All but the auto lock on that'd be.
PSZ was smooth, it brought back the timing from PSO, and MAGS!

If it goes the PC/MAC only route the it would go the same as PSU's online mode on the PC went. It is true that most gamers will have a PC, what isn't true is that they use it to playgames. Majority of all the people I have known and talked to wouldn't play games on their PC/MAC for 3 main reasons. 1. Their computer isn't upgraded to be capable of even playing dominos. 2. Their computer isn't conveniently place for them to sit and play for hours, unless they want the worst backacke of their lives. 3. They bought a system to play games. Why not use it? (don't hate me for saying this as I know there will be a lot that would cut my throut at this but...) Games on a consle are of higher quality, with visual and game engines and also for most, the playability.

you try pointing this to be a phantasy star game, i'm points out the flaw to this. first the xbox is not the popular console in japan. second sega prefer to pamper there jp phantasy star fans, thus since xbox is not the uber console in jp, making the next phantasy star a xbox only game would be a kick to the jewels of most of the jp ps fans.
next lets look at the site, on the posted thumbnail there is a Japaneses letter that i do not know what it translates to.
when i click it, it shows the roman numeral for 8 (VIII)
this could mean no.8 in the series, what games has sega made sequels to that is currently at 7?

'no.8' means 8 days left for the countdown til the announcement day, and today(5/17 JP) it shows '7'. Also, nothing is definite at this point and anything is possible meaning this could even be a PS spin-off instead of true sequel to PSO/PSU which would make sense for releasing on 360 1s for easier coding and then porting over to others, or they could be just fooling us with hype for another remake of old Sega title, like a Shinobi sequel or whatever...

also easier coding has nothing to do with it. if they were choosing a console for easier coding it would probably be for the DS.

I hope this isn't the new Phantasy Star. I don't have a 360, and after all the "Something is coming, we will meet agan" messages they flashed on the shutdown, I want a new PS game to be one I can actually play. A 360 exclusive PS would be a further slap in the face to the PC and PS2 victims.

Who still plays PS2?!?! C'mon, make a game for either the PS3 or 360. That would be ideal. One server on one system. PSOII please. We'll all find out soon enuff.

Wouldn't it be great if it's PSP2 for xbox live? Don't forget, PSP2 still hasn't been announced in English yet. Japan can have their PSP2 on their Playstation Portable. But us westerners (in general) prefer to play our online console games on 360. Cause lets face it, PSN sucks compared to Xbox Live. And I can't see playstation portable games selling as well here compared to Japan. (not to mention the limited community for an online game on that hand held).
But in general, this seems less likely to be a Phantasy Star game.

Wow, I never thought of that! I am not a big PSU or PS:P1 guy, but I loved PS:P2 (except for not understanding anything in japanese). I would be psyched for that port w/better graphics. My close friends & I are still more excited for something PSO'ish. Mag farming...rare weapons with special attacks...telepipes...section ID's...just the whole world of Ragol was more colorful!
