• Phantasy Star Portable 2 - E3 Demo Interview

    Gamespot has posted a video interview with Sega Producer Brody Phillips, who goes over some of the features that will be found in the E3 demo version of Phantasy Star Portable 2, as well as upgrades to the sequel in general. There's a good amount of gameplay footage and some discussion of storyline, character customization, and mulitplayer modes. Check out the full video below:

      Lol at dat Super Saiyan XD.
      Also I liked the dub voice - took me a while to realize it was in English coz of the casting.
      However, is the voice-over for the text scenes gonna be cut off?

      Couldn't help but notice that one of the character's is wearing a variant of Archer's outfit (the blue longcoat). Looks like we could be getting some of the game's DLC too, after all.
      I'm looking forward to the game's release.

      I was caught off my guard with the english voice acting. I wasn't expecting the translation/localisation process to be that far along with the fall release date. I also noticed that Brody Phillips mentioned that gamers could transfer thier PSP characters over to the demo, I thought this was just a demo for E3 2010 but he talks about like it's a demo that we can all download to our psp's. Anyhow, I like what i'm seeing and i acnt wait for E3 to get more info on the english version of the game and I am also looking forward to the US/Eu launch of the full game.

      Why can't they just make thins into a console game, I would much rather play this then psu

      It's disappointing if they only have voice acting during the FMV scenes.

      The Japanese version had full voice acting throughout the game, including the still shot + text parts.


      I'm hoping that the final game isn't like that... That the video was just shot with an alpha version of the US version. With the team working on adding the contest art, they could be working on other things in the US, like finishing up voice acting recording. Here's to hoping... *cheers*

      Oh my... I cannot wait for this game, its just awesome, I hope that they wont cut off the DLC like in the first game, the first game was entertaining, yes, but I felt that It was almost too easy to reach lvl 100 and max out all the combat modes. I hope that this game give us more challenge to level up, I'm not asking for something like good old Phantasy Star Online Ep. I & II, but I want it to be more enternaining than the first PS:P.

      a special chime will play when uber rares drop... great.... a uber rare drops and everyone stops fighting and runs for the item.
      ow well, i like the look of this. graphics don't look as bad as the first one.

      When you play, anything you see drop is for your character. Everyone sees different drops (think of it as the drops being local single-player, but you can still be in a game with people).

      So if you see a Huge Cutter drop, the other players won't be able to see it. When you pick it up, everyone gets notified. So no need to worry about running for red boxes.

      What's that? Challenge mode? AWESOME!
      Battlemode??? WICKED.
      MAN I SURE CAN'T WAIT FOR PSO VER.2... I MEAN... PHANTASY STAR PORTABLE 2. except better, well, I still miss being able to use a keyboard and a ''normal''* controller.
      *don't mind me, I just don't acknowledge a PSP as a ''normal'' controller.
